I can't believe I've gone for 45 years making espresso without having a knock box. But after 35++ years of wife nagging about "breaking the counter with that bang" and using plastic trays I decided to get one. So, I spent some time looking and eventually I decided that getting cheap just made no sense, specially as this sit next to an expensive BIG Expobar. This knock box works very well. It also holds the grounds from our morning drip brew. I can knock the portafilter on the padded bar and I get a sharp knock that cleanly gets rid of the puck, while at the same time, no 'bang on the counter'. I should note that I placed a rubberized mat under it, so it doesn't go anywhere. My wife is happy. And it looks good.

This is a knockbox designed to go into a holder. It can be used without a holder by putting felt feet on the bottom, but the outside finish was never intended to be showy. As far as the smell in the prior review..... it has rubber on it which smelled like (wait for it) rubber. For about a day. My only complaint is that the first on had a very crooked knock bar which was easily returned. Second bar is very slightly crooked, but not enough to visually notice. This thing is built like a tank and is an amazing value. the welds are not mirror polished hand laid beautiful welds (to comment on previous review) but they are hard to notice once the inside is full of your old espresso pucks so who cares.

Replaced an above counter knock box with this to clear up cramped espresso bar space. Appreciate the vendor posting the box dimensions in order to make a cut in the tabletop.

This knockbox is simple and sturdy. It seems to serve its purpose well. It is what we expected. It looks clean and neat from the outside.

I would recommend this to any coffee shop operator. The product is well designed and sturdy. The only thing I would like to have is the ability to order just the rubber part that goes over the center bar. That would make it perfect!
