To start, I want to say that I got the 12oz pitcher assuming that would be enough for my needs, unfortunately that turned out to not be the case. I'm under the impression that 12oz is simply too small to allow for adequate latte foam to form in the pitcher. I got this pitcher to replace the one that came with my Breville Barista Touch, since that stainless steel pitcher has barely visible minimum and maximum lines, and overall I think the black color of this pitcher is more stylish than the brushed steel look of the stock pitcher. To my surprise this pitcher was very well constructed. The various Oz markers are very visible, and the white on black makes it easy to tell when you've passed a marker line with the milk. The pitcher itself is sturdy, the handle feels secure, and the pouring spout itself is almost identical to my Breville pitcher. The latte art pen is a little light, I would have preferred it to be a bit more substantial, but that's personal preference. The pen does what it's designed to do, and the drawing point is nice and sharp to allow for intricate detail. The coloring of this pitcher was what had me most skeptical when I selected it for review. I was concerned that the coloring would flake away over time and potentially cause contamination issues, however I'm happy to say that it seems like this is either an oxidation of some kind or a powder coating on the metal itself, and I'm fairly confident that the color won't degrade over time. If you, like me, have a temperature sensing milk frother, I did notice that the liquid inside the pitcher didn't quite get up to temp when using this pitcher, most likely due to the black color retaining more heat and throwing off the sensor. The milk that I tried this with was off by about 2.5 degrees fahrenheit, so not particularly substantial, but if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, consider looking for a more neutral color. Unfortunately, like I said at the beginning of my review, this pitcher doesn't seem to be large enough to allow for adequate frothing. Even with only 6oz of milk in the pitcher, the foam was overflowing about halfway through the aeration process. It seems like 4oz is probably the maximum I'd be able to use, though obviously the less foam you want in your latte, the less this will be a problem. I'm fairly certain the Breville comes with either a 16 or 20oz stock pitcher, and if you're in the market to replace it, I would highly recommend looking for a pitcher of at least that size. That being said, if you know for certain you can make due with a 12oz pitcher, then this is a great and stylish choice. ... show more

I use to like intended then fill it with water and it sits until I finish drinking the coffee then I clean it up it still looks new. The marks are easy to read when you fill with milk and just the right size for frothing.
