This is a great product so far.. just installed it yesterday. Replaced my broken microwave which was 300 CFM and barely did its job but this one 800 CFM sucks out everything especially my Indian curry chicken and fish fry smell is gone within minutes. Only problem was the installation was not well explained and no template to screw holes from so it took some struggle to get it installed. ... show more

Preface... I am an HVAC professional so I may have insight on a few things... First off, for those that are not getting the airflow they thought they would, it might be because either the backdraft dampers failed to open as it should or there is some problem with the ducting. So... I purchased, received and set up a unit with a round top adapter to install - But found my duct is 7" (not standard) and the unit outlet is a standard 6 so now at 10pm on Saturday with Easter tomorrow I find i need to wait until Monday for the reducer.... That's my story... Now the unit. In no particular order... The template was useless, it should be printed on the other side so you can actually see where the holes go and the electrical connection might be when you place it on the wall or the underside of a cabinet. All three back draft dampers failed to function as they should, sticking closed and also sticking open when manually opened. The screws on the backplate cover stick out too far and so to push the unit back all the way you need to dent the wall. There are two 4" L brackets that I have no idea what they are for, they fit nowhere and none of the holes lineup with anything. There are three sets of screws, one is obviously for under cabinet mounting and one looks like it would be for wall mounting but the other ones? Too small for anything-no idea. The opening i am filling is 30" but this unit is about 29.6" and that means a pretty good gap to fill in. There are LOTS of mounting holes all over the unit and that means that the fans would drag possibly grease in through those holes-ie in to those large gaps on the sides mentiond before.... Then there are a few items others have mentioned; the manual is almost useless, the protective skin is difficult to remove, etc., etc.... On the plus side the fans are pretty powerful when I tested them prior to having to wait for the adapter. One last thing... The old installation had the power cord hole right where the back left mounting hole is. Instead of drilling a bunch of new holes I rerouted the power cord to come out that mounting hole... I will drill a new hole for a new mounting hole... Hope that helps someone. Evan Update: just under a week later. When others say the clock is bright...omg, they are not wrong. I have used a water soap mixture to stick three layers of a medium density theater light bell to the display and it's bearable now. Not sure I like the sensitivity for the touch panel for turning on the fans, brushing when reaching into the cabinet of the hood usually Results in cycling thru the menus to get to time. This unit does not have a timer, just saying. SETTING THE CLOCK... Press and hold the all fan button for a few secs and the hours will start flashing. You use they left and right fan buttons to go up or down. Pressing the all fan button again moves you to Mins. ... show more

It's made of decent stainless steel, the touch buttons are responsive. The LEDs could be a touch brighter, the fans are somewhat loud, but it moves a decent amount of air. My biggest gripe about the product is the included mounting anchors, they're hot trash. If you plan on mounting this underneath a cabinet, use some 1/4 bolts and wing nuts. Impossible to install alone. No mounting brackets for top or bottom. Does not mount like an OTR range. Installation is near impossible alone. - Template for holes is useless / inaccurate. Does not come with any mounting brackets. Does not have bolt holes llke an OTR microwave. Installation is very difficult due to panel only have slide hangars like on a power stripe. You cant easily get your hands on the back bolts to tighten them, better have needle nose pliers. Very Very Very difficult to install. UNIT IS ALSO HEAVY Fans are loud but work good. LED Clock on the front of the fan is as bright as a flashlight with no way to dim. ... show more

This is a great product. With the two fan system. It definitely sucks everything out of the house while you’re cooking. There’s only two bad things I have to say, one is the lighting isn’t bright enough. Also, it is rather loud. But I like it, because it does a fantastic job.
