  • Rane Seventy: Simply amazing mixer and value for the money purchase
style: Seventy
This is by far the best Mixer you can buy if you are like me: - You care about sound quality - You care about build quality - You care a about usability - You care about your gear lasting years and been some kind of multi platform. - You care about class compliant devices. - You believe that pioneer is a heavy marketing company and expensive. - You are not and scratch DJ but you are looking for the best way to be more creative. - You kind of hate controllers and believe more on mixers and media / midi players to have a more flexible approach. - You are willing to pay extra money for all of this features and simply you can't believe why this mixer is so cheap and it have all that you want. - You believe on competition and this move from Pioneer in buying Serato is in the incorrect direction so you will like to boost companies like Rane investing your money on them. I will be using this mixer with two Denon DJ LC6000, for my needs this is simply an extraordinary match. I've been a long time Traktor user but now I'm partially switching due to the more innovative Serato approach and specially because of stems. Love my older setup (Play Differently Model 1.4 pair with 2 Native Instruments X1 mk2). Made In Taiwan and not China. For me that it is also important. ... show more

I bought the rane one a couple weeks ago and it’s been amazing. I bought it used, but it seems brand new to me! I’m trying to get into really learning the board than rather be a lazy dj and I feel like this is the one!

When I first received my controller, one of the jog wheels didn't respond properly when used. Returned it to the company. Once received, it was quickly replaced with a new controller. Other than that, I love it!!

  • Best 2 channel Serato DJ controller
style: One
If motorized platters don't interest you, this won't be the product for you. The device makes a bit of noise when powered on, and a bit more when the motors are going. Once you start to jam you won't hear it, and if you're playing out the crowd will never notice, but it exists. I'd compare it to the sound of a normal turntable with a record on and needle in the cut, so it's pretty fair and even comes in below par if you make that comparison, but as far as controllers go, this is the only one that has it's own noise. This is the only drawback I can come up with, as otherwise for me the device is perfect. Some might find the channels limiting, but you can also hook up auxiliary devices like drum machines or synths to the main channel inputs and easily switch between them and the built-in decks with a switch on each channel. The EQs and filters work fine like this but the FX are software-only so you'll want a Zoom pedal or something like that if you want to effect your input signal. Again, the only drawbacks the device has really is just par for equipment in it's class, it doesn't under deliver in any regard but seriously outperforms the competition in some key and novel aspects. If you like to scratch, are interested in giving it a try, or even just like the feel of the "work," this is the controller to buy. ... show more

  • This is an awesome controller!
style: Four
I cannot find anything bad about this controller. It is well made, easy to use and it very robust in its features. Rane has really outdone themselves with this! You can start using it right out of the box and learn as you go. The only thing I recommend is to make sure you have a sufficient processor and plenty of memory. The STEMS can really eat up your CPU usage (I've seen it has high as 40% in Serato when STEMS is running but calms down after its done analyzing). Lots of Kudos to RANE for putting such an awesome controller together! ... show more

  • Excellent alternative to Control Vinyl.
style: One
Like everyone else, the first thing that caught my attention was the weight and sturdiness of this unit. Coming from light, plastic, DDJ gear, it felt really good to have something that felt hefty like this. But not too heavy to be portable. And not so light that it slides around your table. The legs underneath are super convenient for clean simple set ups and keeping your wires tucked. The platters feel great. I do recommend replacing the slip mats that come with it. They are not the best, and kind of loud when holding the acrylic vinyl sim... The lack of hardware fx is a bummer, but the fx paddles are very nice and intuitive. The lighting on the unit is very pleasing to my eyes. Nice long tempo faders, I will admit are a bit more touchy than I expected them to be but still very nice and efficient. The soundcard is everything you would want from this price range. Clean, punchy sound. Coming from Pioneer products, one thing I am having to adjust to is not having beatgrid editing controls on the controller itself. At least I haven't found them if they do exist. And I'm not too good at remapping certain functions as of now. Overall, the functionality, the sound, the workflow, all of it gets an A+ from me. The few oversights, like the missing hardware based fx, low quality slip mat, and beatgrid functions not being accessible from the board are why I only give it 4 stars. Literally everything else is perfect. Professional outputs. 2 mic inputs, double laptop connection, on board power source. This is a great purchase for mobile DJs, streaming DJs, or just DJs. If you can afford it, and you know how to use dj gear. Absolutely buy it. ... show more
