I’ve seen these dibbler tools for years but never really needed one and could get by with using another tool or even a finger since I’m usually just working with potting mix. This year I plan to put some seedlings directly into the ground and I think this will come in handy. Even though the dimensions are shows, it’s a little bigger than I thought it’d be. The materials seem to be of good quality and the tool certainly looks nice. I’m not sure how the metal ‘cone’ is attached to the wooden handle, but it moves around a bit. I don’t think it’ll become an issue, but I think it could’ve been attached more securely. This is definitely in the category of luxury item, non-necessity, at least for what I do in the garden. If you’re planting a lot of seeds, bulbs, small seedlings directly into the ground then this will likely be a welcome addition and make things easier. I think the price could be a couple of dollars cheaper, but it’s still fair.

I drove the dibber into the flower garden super easy and drove it into unbroken ground almost as easy. When you retract the dibber back from the ground it practically pops itself out of the ground, similar to a cork. My only issue is that it measures 1/16 of an inch shorter than advertised. The tip is where it all begins as the first inch measurement is that 1/16 of an inch short. The dibber I received may have been clipped a little short. The Japanese Ash wood handle is of excellent hardwood quality on this garden hand dibber. This is an excellent buy and time saver.

This is a practical item when you need to plant seeds and young transplants...provided your soil is loose. If you have really hard soil that hasn't been worked, it wouldn't be practical. But this is great when you don't need to dig holes to plant your veggies and flowers. I've wanted one for a long time and just never got one. Now I do!

This review is for RainboWiner Garden Hand Dibber, Bulb Planter Tool, 11 Inch. This is a good quality large garden tool. There are inch markings on the metal tip which are approximately one inch apart (they are slightly off which should not matter for garden use, 1/8" off in 5"). The wood is not really finished so it may be helpful to lightly sand then oil or spar varnish the wood in order for it to hold up to outdoor use. Useful for planting seeds or small bulbs at a specified depth or using the point to drag out a shallow trough for seeds.

This dibber is super! A really heavy duty wooden handle, with a stainless steel dibber section… I am very excited to use it. It is a significant upgrade over my current dibber which is just wood. The form of the handle is particularly useful. It is a ‘t’ type handle which will make it so much easier and more comfortable to apply pressure to push the dibber into the dirt… A leather hook is a nice feature, though I typically add these myself, by drilling a hole. I will do the same with this tool, since the hook will last longer that way! The stainless steel dibber section will be so much easier to clean and should last a long time. It is riveted onto the wooden handle and as such is slightly loose. However, I actually think that riveting is likely a better option than having it glued in. Glue is more likely to fail from use (water, friction etc etc) There a gradations permanently etched into the stainless too. A very important and helpful detail… Overall, a very nice version of an essential gardening tool!
