To start, I've been in the RC hobby for years and have a bunch of rigs. I tested this out in the same way I would drive my name brand rigs that cost many $100s of dollars, fully expecting to break things but I think thats a fair test as a "beginner" is going to crash,hit things and so on. So that's how I based this review. Overall, this RC is a decent starter RC. It comes 100% ready to run and has a pretty good speed right out of the box. The metal gears and full bearings are a nice touch, and the fact that it comes with two batteries is a plus. However, there are some downsides to this RC. The suspension is very bouncy and the tires could use some improvement. The plastic used for the body post and other parts of the truck is very brittle and breaks easily, and finding replacement parts can be difficult, I could not find any parts, out side of electronics. If you break a body post or an a-arm or a bumper, you may be out of luck. For the cost, I would recommend spending $10 to $20 more and looking at a WLToys RC instead if you want to get something to start someone in the hobby. While this RC is a decent starter option, the shortcomings in the suspension, tires, and plastic make it difficult to fully recommend.

So, originally my review was going to be quite good. Around 4 stars, excluding 1 since the plastic outside gets messed up pretty quickly depending on how much you use it. But I removed another star because the first 30 minutes I used it the motor actually failed. Took me a bit to find out what what happened but the motor actually failed on me and it just completely stopped working. It was surprising but I had ordered a replacement and this one seems to work fine. It's fast but definitely not 30mph like advertised. On the box it says 40kph which is 25mph but it feels like it's going about 20 at most. The false advertising and the failed motor definitely is why it gets 3 stars.

This car is awesome it is the best car I have ever bought. It is not 100% water proof though. But it is true that this car is HIGH SPEED. I am not an experienced driver so it can get out of control sometimes. It cannot drive in wet grass. Highly recommended 😀😀😀

Got this for my 10 year old for his birthday. He promptly lost the little clips that keep the body of the truck on the frame, so we had to use safety pins until we could get replacement clips. Aside from that, we haven't had any issues at all. The battery lasts as long as any other remote control car. And this truck is super fast!
