I bought this particular cable organizer for two primary reasons: 1, I did not want a permanent attachment that would deface my desk (it has a leather top so I didn't; want something that screwed into the top) and 2, the tray had to be low enough to accommodate the drawers that come with the desk. Some of the cable organizers I saw assume a simpler "tabletop" configuration, and would not accommodate my drawers. This unit did everything I needed it to. The tray is low enough so that it could just barely fit my drawer (a half-inch longer would have been even better though), and the attachment mechanism allows multiple desktop thicknesses. Now instead of a surge protector/outlet expander, and lots of cars, my desktop is much less messy, and there are fewer wires hanging down behind it.

For those that have several devices like laptops, computers, monitors on the table, this does a really great job of cleaning up the mess underneath of cables. Not only does it look nice if you happen to see it but you can place it anywhere behind the table. You'll still see a bit of a mess but at least they won't be all over the floor. Definitely a great choice for people who work at home.
