  • Two sheets are cheaper than 1? That’s my guess here. Neither are really safe from mice.
Color: Black Size: 13.8-15FT
This kayak needed a cover, the 13.8-15’ was selected. This exposed kayak is 13’4. A longer kayak is in covered storage and isn’t doing this dress up review today. No other reviews are on Amazon, at this time, for this length. KISS. Here’s my plan. There are two pieces, one flat sheet, one fitted sheet. (Sound familiar?) Photos help! 1. Decide what side will end up, up? In my case, the bottom side will be up, when stored. 2. I lay the fitted side on the ground/concrete, the exposed side down, on the grass. 3. I place the kayak, top side up, on the “grounded” fitted sheet. (Photo 3) 4. Optional: Test the fit over, fore and aft, get your straps ready, open too much is better than too little now. (Photo 0) Then undo the ends. 5. Put the flat sheet on top, of the top. (Photo 5) 6. Make sure both top and bottom sheets are the same look, outside texture out, shinier to the inside. 7. Strap the top, on the kayak. Fore, amidships, and aft. Pull excess to the ends. 8. Reach under to grab either fitted end, and stretch up and over that end. 9. Reach under the other end, and do the same. (Photo 9 & 10) 10. Then assist the fitted sides up and over, so they can be strapped in place. 11. I would have to allow than in a very tight fit in length, 9 & 10 might need to trade order. 12. Rollover to see your finished cocoon, pull excess to ends. This plan worked and made it easy, which is fortunate as rain was expected soon! The question for you is, get this “2 piece” at this price, or the zipper ended 1 piece at almost twice the price. You have to know your territory: Will your mice, squirrels, etc., chew in, to get in? Our critters are very active. I could be tempted to buy several of these if they survive, but I would not be a happy camper, especially at twice the price, if they got munched one winter! This gets a 5 star for the price and easy bagging. And I’m expecting the 1 flat sheet is a major reason for the low price. Two sheets are cheaper than 1? That’s my guess here. • Looks Like it will Hold Up
Color: Black Size: 12.3-13.5FT
This is a very nice cover. It comes in a set of 2 tarps. One has elastic and the other does not. It didn't come with instructions. I assume I'll need to wrap my kayak in the non-elastic cover, then the other one. My kayak is currently up in some rafters, and I don't have the need to get it down yet. I can see that this cover will fit though and it appears to be easy to use. Everything fits nicely inside the bag that comes with it. The material is waterproof. I think it is made of a pretty durable material. I wouldn't want to leave something like this out in direct weather for long period. Tarps and fabrics like this are meant for travel and other short stints. 6 months exposure to the elements for something like this will wear it down. I could be wrong though. I'll have this on my kayak to keep dust and other debris off of it as well as to keep critters out of it. I'll also use it for travel. It is made of better material than I've seen for grill covers and other water resistant products I've used in the past. I think it will hold up nicely. The price, considering it will be protecting a pretty nice kayak, is good at around $50 depending on the size you choose. ... show more

  • It’s a firm maybe lol
Color: Black Size: 12.3-13.5FT
Does the job but kind of thin, not sure it will hold up. Easy to install but not sure I would recommend or buy again, time will tell if it holds up.

  • Easy to install, full coverage, straps securely on place
Color: Black Size: 13.8-15FT
I got this to cover my 15 ft solo canoe. It came with a storage bag and 2 cover pieces, for the top and bottom of the boat. There's a flat piece and and a fitted piece (sort of like sheets for a bed). No instructions so I assumed the flat portion is attached first to the part of the boat that will be facing down on the storage rack or carrier. The fitted portion then goes on the part of the boat that is facing up. This allows the fitted piece to overlap the flat piece and keep out the elements. Both are secured with straps on either end and in the middle. I usually transport my kayak with the cockpit up, and my canoe with the cockpit down, so I would attach these differently, depending on the type of boat. Thought it might be difficult to put these on as it was a little windy and I was doing this by myself, but it was pretty easy. I just laid out the flat cover, put a little weight on each corner and rolled the canoe onto it. Strapped it in place, then rolled it upright and put the fitted part on either end...again, much like putting a fitted sheet on my bed. Fabric seems to be a light weight but dense weave, with a protective coating. I hope to be able to use these when traveling to improve my gas mileage. Meantime, I can toss my shredded tarps and rest easy knowing my boats are protected from sun and UV. ... show more
