This toilet paper is super soft and very gentle on the skin. I counted three ply. It seems they have the genius to make the very bottom layer for strength and the two top layers full of soft fluffy goodness. They took toilet making to the next level. I actually put a couple of pieces in a bowl of water to check its clog prevention and am happy to say that it manage to have a very good rate of disintegration. It started to separate and reduce in size very well. Only thing I want to point out is that is it just me or are toilet paper rolls getting a little bit shorter? Anyway the thickness is very good and I can't stop talking about just how soft and gentle this toilet paper is. I recommend and will be back to order again. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Looking for a soft toilet paper and heard good things about this one Wipe quality: Exceptional wipe quality. It feels like wiping with silk. Absorbency: It is the perfect consistency of fluffy and absorbs very well. Roll size: The roll size is thick and lasting. Durability: It is strong while being soft Ply: I counted three ply. It seems they have the genius to make the very bottom layer for strength and the two top layers full of soft fluffy goodness. I shouldn't have made this purchase. It's not that the material is bad or that the price point was too much. I shouldn't have because now, thanks to this 3 ply TP I feel somewhat elevated from the common man. Sounds funny, I know, but hear me out It was on sale, I had a credit on a card. Yada yada, I sprung for it and paid the 1.25 difference. But I knew, absolutely knew, I had done the wrong thing. See, it all comes down to ply. 1 ply is evil, you end up paranoid with 1 ply, especially if you have serious stomach distress. 1 ply always feels like it's running out. You hunch over, sweat, freak out with 1 ply. 2 ply, however is the way to go. It's stronger than 1 but not as high and mighty as 3. It's nowhere near 4 ply (4 ply is reserved for Sultans, Sheik's and Jeff Bezos, just not in that order). And 2 ply is all one really needs. But I got the 3 ply and now, I feel very strong. Like I'm better than other people. I mean I started looking at my neighbors sideways. Treating friends poorly. I'm like a man with delusions of grandeur all because I got ahold of some 3 ply paper on sale. This isn't right. Anyway, the quality is excellent and the roll is big enough to fit the holder. It looks good, doesn't flake apart like cheaper brands and does the job. But it can also lead to acting conceited, egotistical and downright rude. I mean, this could corrupt the soul! Anyway, look, I always keep a few dozen rolls around. Because I'm neurotic like that. I've run out before and during the pandemic, toilet paper hoarders almost gave me mental trauma. Buy the 2 ply or get this superior 3 ply, especially if you can get it on sale or with points or both, like I did. But for Pete's sake, don't let this TP go to your head. Keep it where it belongs, on your rear end. Update: being curious, I looked up 5 ply toilet papers, and yes folks it exists. Not only does it exist but it looks like it belongs in some ultra chic bathroom in say, a club you and I won't ever get into, or one of those mansions that look great on the outside but are gaudy and tacky on the inside like that movie Kubrick did before he went into the great beyond. 5 ply paper comes in midnight black with red trim. Okay?! Like made for a vampire crew. Why not flamingo pink and canary yellow? Or cobalt blue and vanilla white? This is disturbing. I imagined that if it existed only government type places would have it because let's face it, what are they full of? Still, the 4 ply I found feature two 2 ply's glued together (I would imagine with some type of biodegradable solvent as opposed to something harsh), they come with scented tubes. Scented tubes people! Talk about going over the line. Next thing you know, they'll have 6 and 8 ply. Pretty soon they'll sell us disposable towelettes with initials on them, in colors and shapes, patterns and so forth. What is the world coming to and who really needs 5 ply? I'm going to stop this nonsense. If I keep going I'll end up writing a bathroom book with all the different types of paper, their manufacturing processes, how the materials are sourced and so forth. I'll have to print the entire thing on 5 ply, so people can wipe with a page. Betcha someone does it. I couldn't, but these are the mad thoughts one thinks of the higher in ply we go. Stick to 2. Maintain sane and save a buck where you can. Not all of us can be the Sultan of Brunei, although we can pretend on occasion.

Quilted northern has been my go to for years, despite being raised on charmin ultra soft which would likely be my second choice, but haven’t purchased a pack of them in years, its the only kind my mom still buys when visiting. I used to enjoy cottonelle ultra soft for a bit but the quality seemed to change so I tried quilted northern ultra plush and has been my go to since (shoutout to the Amazon presto brand which is comparable to charmin ultra soft which I got during covid and still have one roll I’ve held onto). I’d give them 5 stars if they would stop downsizing the product, or at least make other sizes (the only other one I’ve seen offered is the ultra mega which is hard to find and only comes in an 8 pack (and I think a 16 pack as well but not sure). Those come in 378 sheets per rolls vs the so called mega which is 255 sheets per roll. (They did used to make other sizes, including smaller, like double, as well as mega, supreme, and so on. I wish they would take a note from some of their competitors like charmin and offer it in multiple sizes, as their current mega is 224 per roll, and the next size up is the xl mega at 336 per roll, and xxl at 440 per roll. For a 12 pack of the current quilted northern mega (255) not on sale, is typically around 13 dollars plus tax vs the ultra mega size (378) in the 8 pack which is around $15-16 plus tax, and you end up paying $2-3 more in that case for 36 sheets less in the ultra mega pack, so I’m forced to buy the mega version, and have to stow a few spare rolls nearby with limited bathroom space, vs keeping it in a less cluttered area like my kitchen pantry and not worry about replacing it for a longer period of time. The quality to me does remain to be good and soft, though it’s not as thick as the presto one I still have or likely the charmin ultra soft, despite it being three ply. I buy it for the sole reason that it feels softest to me, but I hate how much they have continued to downsize their product, as the former megas from over a year ago used to have 284 sheets per roll, and I had purchased the supreme size on Amazon a couple times which came in 308 or more sheets per roll for a 8 or 24 pack. The price seems reasonable, but I think the more you buy the less you pay, so buying a larger package of it will typically save one more money than a 6 pack. I have had no issues with clogging, it dissolves fine. Despite it being 3 ply, as mentioned before, it still isn’t as thick as the others I’ve mentioned like charmin and the presto version. I tend to use more and will double it if needed to get the job done. The 3 ply’s are just ply’s, but for me it’s a soft thing, as I’m pretty sure a 2 ply of charmin is more durable than this but doesn’t leave the crumbling that I’ve encountered on occasions with that brand vs quilted northern.
