Last year, my dog, Koconut and I’s first summer together, I discovered that he LOVES the water. He especially loves to fetch balls thrown way out into the waves from shore, to the point of complete exhaustion. I decided it would be wise to buy him a life vest. However, because I’m so extra, I wanted one that was SUPER cute, functional enough for both of us to feel comfortable with him swimming anywhere, and that also fit his strange german shepherd-Pitbull proportions (slender torso, short back, wide shoulders, stubby neck, super broad chest). The first two Amazon brands I tried made life vests that were cute and functional, but either too big or too small (rubbing against his manhood or unable to close across his chest). One’s strap also began to fray and break with all the rough water play. After trying two different sizes (L, XL) across two different Amazon brands, with no success, I was ready to give up. The first two brands I tried were visually identical to this one (grey, velcro/snap buckle, shark fin, for big dogs) and I didn’t think the only remaining brand of shark fin life vests could be that different or any better than the first two. The Queenmore jacket was also more expensive than the other two by almost $10! BUT BOY, WAS I WRONG!!!! I am excited to share that this vest not only met, but EXCEEDED my expectations! It comes in so many cute styles & colors, and a size for every dog, so summer fun in the water is open to all! The velcro closures make it easy to get on my dog’s body, while the snap buckles help keep it securely in place for my peace of mind and my dog’s safety. I did end up getting the XL because while the L fit his chest, the velcro wouldn’t fasten under his body. So as a result, I do have to cross the chest straps over one another to make the neck hole smaller. I don’t mind doing this, because he’s still secure and it doesn’t look bad. Dogs with regular proportions, should be fine, but if your dog is in between sizes, I’d recommend sizing up. The vest is SUPER lightweight, compact enough to be stored under the backseat of my SUV for impromptu swimming sessions, and my dog’s range of motion is uninhibited when he wears it. The best part, however, has to be how children and adults alike are DELIGHTED when they see him. “THERE’S A SHARK IN THE WATER,” they all cry with joy and laughter! Many other dog owners have asked where I got it from because of how secure and comfortable it looks on Koconut. He loves the attention he gets in it too, and personally, I think it helps make him look less “scary” as an “aggressive breed.” Lastly, the fin stays mostly upright, but it does have the tendency to flop to the left a little when soaked. Nothing a few little wire or plastic reinforcements can’t fix, for my crafty people! All in all, I’d give this vest a 9/10! Would HIGHLY recommend!

The media could not be loaded. I got two of these life jackets, M mermaid for my 45 lb pit mix and L shark for my 55+ lb GSD mix. Sizing: The medium is the perfect size for my pit mix, but any larger and she would need a large. For my 55+lb puppy the large fits great and he still has room. Fit: Both of my dogs seemed very comfortable in them. There are straps and velco so it stays on good, but doesn’t limit their motion at all. They were fine wearing them in the car on the way to the beach. They aren’t scratchy and the buckles abs straps are well placed. They never tried to take them off and would probably wear them all day if I left it on them. Floating: These worked great in the ocean, I have a video of it with my puppy swimming in the waves. One day he hit a huge wave and I watched the life jacket pull him back up. My pit didn’t enjoy swimming so she didn’t use it as much, but she did go out once and it worked great. Looks: Both are really adorable. The shark fin does struggle to stay up, but it is pushed down to pack so I’m not surprised. You could probably get it to hold if you messed with it, but it is what it is to me. Final Thoughts: Overall a great life jacket and an amazing price. Comparable sized life jackets are double the price at pet stores and aren’t cute like these!

I have a 25-30lb Corgi. I order a medium and the Velcro part fit him perfectly around his stomach and neck. My only issue is that the clip ins, adjusting it is very hard to adjust, but they are adjustable, it’s just hard! But I guess that’s good so they don’t come loose in the water. The handle bar worked great too, I was able to pick him up and he didn’t slip out of it. It’s so cute!

We have a 43lb goldendoodle that stilling filling out at 9mo of age. Because of his age and size, buying vests can be awkward with his measurements fitting in between Medium and a Large. Medium was a hair small, still fit but velcro was not latched to it's fullest. Large is a little big with all straps tightened down. We ended up going with Large since he'll probably end up growing a bit. Quality is fine, handle works well for pulling dogs out of the water. I'd recommend this as a first time life vest. He looks very cute with the fin poking out of the water as well. Our dog measures: Neck: 23.5in Chest/Girth: 25.5in

It was my puppy’s first time going out to the lake and swimming, so I definitely wanted a trustworthy life jacket for him to swim around in and wear on the boat. When I got this in, I immediately felt it was great quality and was super excited to try it on my pup! For size reference, my pup at the time of purchase was 6 months old and about 60 pounds. He’s a goldendoodle! I ended up ordering him a large, and life jacket fit him perfectly! I let him wear it around the house for a few minutes everyday the week leading up to get him used to it, and he didn’t mind wearing it at all. It’s also so easy to put on! When swimming in the life jacket, I didn’t feel it was constricting at all and he could paddle around to his hearts content!! The fin also stayed up great!! This was such a hit with my family and everyone who saw him wearing it!! Highly recommend!!!
