It's soft because of the pillowtop but firm.. after mine and my boyfriend's first night's sleep on it it's a really nice mattress.. the only thing is there is no edge support. The only thing that would make this mattress perfect would be if it was just a tad bit more firm and if his side of the bed wouldn't sink when he rolled over towards the edge... Which may cause problems for us in the future but for the price you can't beat it. It is however, 100% onyx approved (see picture)

Love my 14" mattress. Excellent workmanship and sweet to sleep on. Only issue was/is not totally compatible with Lucid 300 adjustable bed base. For some reason, it doesn't contour to the base but hopefully over time it will. Excellent pain relief. As described. Highly recommend.

After about two months of having this bed the center has started to dip down making it very uncomfortable. There is no support and puts pressure on my hips. I would not recommend this bed.
