Its genuine leather. Its a little stiff at first, but gets softer and loose with wear. its a little larger than normal large dog items, but it fit good. it was a great value.

We really liked this collar and are bummed it broke after 1 month. Unfortunately we're just shy of the 30 day return. As you can see in the picture, the D-ring ripped away from the collar, and after inspecting it, the ring had a sticky residue as well as the collar where the ring was. I guess the leather fabric was glued into place around the D-ring instead of being sewn in. Thankfully our dog didn't run for the hills when it broke off while he was on his leash.
