Style:Chrome | Size:48" W x 24" D The Quantum Storage Systems RWR72-2448LD four-tier standing wire shelving unit has four shelves and is made of chrome- plated carbon steel for strength, durability, and to resist dirt buildup and corrosion. Its open wire design offers visibility of contents, permits air circulation in the work environment, and helps resist dust build-up. The shelves adjust in 1" increments to accommodate items of varying heights, and have a welded construction reinforced with wire trusses and struts for strength. The posts are grooved at 1" intervals to help guide installation of the shelves at desired heights, and come with adjustable levelers to facilitate use on uneven surfaces. Split sleeves on the posts hold and support the shelves. This shelving unit has been manufactured to meet National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute (NSF/ANSI) Standard 2 for use in food handling and processing, dry storage only. The shelving unit measures 72 x 48 x 24 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; L is length, the horizontal distance from front to back.) It has a 300 lb. per shelf capacity when the weight is evenly distributed across each shelf. Assembly instructions are included, and no tools are required. I seldom leave reviews as I find it unnecessary when there are existing reviews that are accurate and complete, however that is not the case with this particular shelving unit's reviews. I have existing shelving units of this style, and I ordered a 36" W x 18" D x 72"H unit from a different manufacturer at the same time that I ordered this particular 30" W x 18" D x 72"H unit; in comparison between the three different manufacturers, the shelves I have and the other brand are very similar in design and construction....very heavy/sturdy shelving units with the shelving wires being spaced about 3/4" center to center and running front to back (perpendicular to the width of the unit), which makes sliding items onto and off of the shelves easier. This Quantum storage systems RWR72-1830LD shelving unit is MUCH lighter weight, with the shelving wire running parallel to the width of the unit and spaced at 1-1/4". Between the wires being orientated side to side, and the 1-1/4 spacing, I believe that sliding smaller boxes/items on and off these shelves would be tricky (my intended use for this shelving unit was for placement in a kitchen pantry). Now the verbal description does not specify the wiring orientation or spacing (it seems that none of the various manufacturers/listings denote this), but the picture both on the webpage AND ON THE BOX THAT THE UNIT CAME IN, show the shelving unit's wire supports as running front to back and having the 3/4" spacing. Hence my major disappointment in this product. When ordering online, one has to rely on the given information and when the given information/description is not accurate it creates headaches and hassles for all involved (my return has already been initiated...thank you Amazon for your great return policy!). I appreciate reviews that point out issues, or benefits, that are not apparent in the product's listing....and there is definitely an issue with the listing for the shelving unit that I received. Based on the fact that the picture on the manufacturer's shipping box does not match the actual shelving unit, I think that this is a case where the manufacturer changed the product without updating the product's description. SO, beware that this unit is not built as shown in the listing as of 4/22/15. A closing word of advice in comparing the many shelving options available on Amazon; use the shipping/item weight during comparison of different shelving units for an indication as to how heavily made a particular unit might be. The sturdy 36" wide unit (from a different manufacturer) that I ordered at the same time as this 30" wide Quantum brand unit, weighs almost twice as much as this 30" wide unit! ... show more

Quantum Storage Systems RWR72-2442LD 4-Tier Wire Shelving Unit, Chrome Finish, 300 lb. Per Shelf Capacity, 72" Height x 42" Width x 24" Depth IF: You are looking for an inferior product compared the what you are expecting when you order steel wire shelving, this is the unit for YOU. Note in the pictures that the top wires run the WIDTH of the shelf (~1 1/8" apart) and the support wires underneath run the DEPTH of the shelf (~7 1/8" apart). Now, note that when you try to slide anything on to the shelf from the front, EACH LITTLE WIRE will get in your way as you try to slide the product onto the shelf from the front. ALTERNATIVELY: if you plan to slide product onto the shelf from the side of the shelf, then this shelving unit might work for you. NOTE: Re: the chrome shelving unit I've had for 10 years, the top wires run the DEPTH of the shelf, they are spaced 7/8" apart, The supporting under wires run the WIDTH of the shelf, 6 7/8" apart. I bought 2 of these shelves, they are perfect for holding my grow lights and seed trays. Very easy to put together, I'm pleased with being able to adjust the shelves to any height I want. Very sturdy shelves, this product they will last me for years. Great price and were delivered earlier than expected. I am very happy with this shelving unit. I would also like to add that out of the 2 I bought the first one had all the parts, the second one had 8 lower post and no uppers, I emailed the company and told them about the packaging mishap and with NO QUESTIONS ASKED they sent me the 4 upper post within a week. I was so impressed by this and very happy.. Would definitely buy from them again. Just love these shelves! ... show more

I got this product to hold 2 10 gallon fish tanks per shelf. It said each shelf can hold the weight. Technically it CAN hold it without collapsing but the shelves bow down and bend under only 1 tank per shelf so now I have slanted fish tanks cause the shelves don't hold more than 50lbs without bending and bowing. Total rip off! If you say shelves can hold a certain weight they should hold it without bending! They need better support under them to hold their shape. Even placing thick cardboard under the objects doesn't help. Gonna have to weld support brackets so the shelves can hold the stated weight. ... show more
