I fish off the pier so having this light weight, foldable large net works perfect for me instead of carrying the heavier metal net I have been using. Mostly targeting California halibut from spring through summer and with the mesh rubber net it will be less tear to their tail fin. It's pretty light so to sink it to the bottom of the ocean with large wave probably need to anchor it down with some weights compare to the metal frame I use. I did notice after I fold it up few times it doesn't hold its circle shape. Hope the wire does not break after multiple use. Will update if it does. ... show more

I got this net for my upcoming trip to the Gulf; I plan to fish from some piers and don't like losing fish because they're too heavy to reel up to the pier. I am impressed with the strength and flexibility of the 2 rings that shape the net and the heavy rubber coating on the netting itself, which not only protects the fish from damage, but keeps hooks from tangling with the net. this is a big net, great for bait or pulling a lunker up from the water to a bridge. well made and compact for its size when opened should be something in everyone's tackle box!
