  • Awesome little R/C plane
The media could not be loaded. This little plane is SO much fun. My son is 9 and an aspiring pilot. He was ridiculously excited when he got this. He put it together with his dad. Assembly didn't take long, although my husband did mention that some of the instructions were poorly translated and a bit hard to follow. They figured it out, though. It was neat for them to be able to build this together. We have a family member who was super into flying large-scale R/C planes, so the fact that this was styrofoam was not a surprise. It's like a tiny version of the big ones we're used to seeing. It has to be made of lightweight material to keep it light enough to fly. Good news about styrofoam is it's really pretty durable. It definitely took my son quite a bit of practice before he got the hang of flying this plane. It's easier to start with a throw take-off, so he learned to do that first. Once he got the controls down, he was really excited to find out that he could, in fact, drive it down the "runway" and take it off, just like a real plane. This thing can really take a beating, let me just tell you. Ours has been crashed countless times into grass, pavement, fences...it even got stuck in a tree once. One of the engines has come off, but I think it's super glue-able and not having it doesn't impact how well the plane flies. It comes with extra parts that are likely to wear down or get lost, like landing gear. That's super handy. For how much this thing zooms around, the battery life is pretty impressive. I've not specifically timed how long its run time has been whenever we've taken it out, but I would say, between failed takeoff attempts, crash landings, running across the field to go get it, and actual flight time, we probably average a good 40 minutes of play time before it runs out of juice. Definitely enough to make the walk down to the local school worth it! This plane has really been fun for our whole family. My big kid is obsessed. My husband likes to fly it too. And our 4-year-old loves to watch his brother fly and race him across the field to get to it when it crashes. Everybody gets in on the action somehow. (I mostly just take pics and videos and hold everyone's snacks and water, but I like to watch too.) For the price, this is an excellent entry-level R/C plane. It's durable, has really good battery life, is relatively simple to put together and is easy enough for a 9-year-old to fly. It's really great. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Defective and couldn’t return it.
This product was defective! I couldn’t return it since I missed the return date. It is frustrating because I bought this in advance to surprise my son on a special occasion but sadly when we opened it and put it together it never worked. I spent a few days and did a lot of research but it didn’t work. Now I am stuck with a product that doesn’t work and my son is very disappointed. ... show more

  • Quite Disappointing
We previously bought one of the foam F35 RC airplanes for our son that is of similar construction and found it very enjoyable. I left it out in the rain and spoiled it. As a replacement, our son decided he wanted an A380 so we chose this one. The F35 was very easy to fly and very controllable, this one is not. Our son is a bit young to fly it so I tried to fly it for him, as with the F35. We have only gotten one session out of it. I only got it to take off once. It doesn't taxi straight. There is a trim button that is supposed to straighten it out, but it seems to overcompensate. Pressing it one way makes the plane taxi to the left and one press in the other direction and it taxis right. It also tends to flip and somersault when trying to take off. We ended up resorting to throwing it by hand. Once in the air it is not very maneuverable. It can only make very wide turns and is very sensitive to throttle inputs. It climbs very quickly and when you slightly ease down on the throttle to try to get it to fly at a steady height, it loses all lift and dive bombs into the ground. The manual has some info about carefully bending the plane to get better performance. I tried this but didn't get any improvement. Maybe I was being too gentle, as the plane is very fragile and I didn't want to break it. We got about three short dive bombing flights until one of the wings completely broke off. It is currently disassembled on the dining table, waiting for the glue to dry. I am not hopeful of getting many more flights out of it before this wing or the other breaks off. I will try again with it but I think I will end up buying another one of the F35s, or trying to scrap the electronics from this one and putting them in the F35 body. If you want trouble free fun, my recommendation is to skip this and buy the F35 instead. The F35 also costs a bit less. ... show more

  • Great concept but lacks durability
Son loves this plane but is made of styrofoam so very fragile. I don’t think it will make it much longer. Have had to take the wing back on😞

  • Nice product
The media could not be loaded. This plane we bought for our son. He was so happy when it was flying. It's very exciting. The plane is light, made of styrofoam, the engines have fallen off, but they are attached back and they are only needed for beauty. So the son is very happy.

  • Save your time & money
This plane does not turn right or left. I don’t believe this plane is a 3 channel. Disappointing purchase

  • Fun to fly once you practice
First off this plane is super light. It is made out of Styrofoam. You need to assemble it and charge internal battery and the controller needs 3 AA batteries which are not included. Flight was difficult for me as I crashed it many times. I think trying to fly would be best on a clear day with little to no wind. I think this plane would suit a beginner. ... show more
