This is a lightweight cotton twill, a weight closer to cotton shirting rather than pants. The package I received contains the same color assortment as that depicted in the photos, all cut into perfect rectangles. Some of the colors (especially the red and hot pink) have a slight sheen (similar to cotton sateen) compared to the others which are matte. The quarters were as close to size as possible. Once washed or dried it does tend to shrink. It worked out for what I was using them for. Color was true to picture.

This fabric is a regular straight weave - it is not a twill weave! I used it but the description is wrong.

    • Beware of This Fabric
I never do a review but this time I though I should. I pre-washed the Fat Quarters "gentle cycle" separately and they pretty much they came apart around the edges and all the loosened fibers got tangled up with each other. It was a complete mess to get them apart. A few were completely ripped The fabric is not useful for too much now so I will cut them down and use for scrap projects. Never had that problem before when buying the same material so I will be going back to the Fabric Store and from now I will know what I am getting. ... show more

although strange, these are exactly what i needed. each piece comes folded in half with another one folded in half inside it. if you layer the pieces they should be opaque enough but they are pretty thin on their own. if you are looking for a thicker fabric, this might not be your best choice. the colors are beautiful and just as expected! ... show more
