This is a lightweight cotton twill, a weight closer to cotton shirting rather than pants. The package I received contains the same color assortment as that depicted in the photos, all cut into perfect rectangles. Some of the colors (especially the red and hot pink) have a slight sheen (similar to cotton sateen) compared to the others which are matte. These are 14 fat quarters that are precisely cut to 18 x 22 inches. Although the fabric is 100% cotton, it is like a thin polished cotton. The colors are nice. I don't know whether I'll be able to use them in a quilt because of the fabric weight, so I'll need to cut and sew a block to see whether it's sturdy enough to withstand the wear and tear of a blanket. I think this fabric may be better suited to crafts or wall-hangings. But you get what you pay for. ... show more

The quarters were as close to size as possible. Once washed or dried it does tend to shrink. It worked out for what I was using them for. Color was true to picture.
