  • Simple but Effective
My $790 twenty-two year old Sony Receiver died, so I purchased this Pyle receiver on Amazon for $271. It is much simpler than the Sony, but has everything I need. It was easy to connect to my TV, Bluetooth player and surround sound speakers. I like the individual volume control on the remote.

  • DEFECTIVE ON ARRIVAL
Bought this as a "used, like new" unit. Unpacked it, hooked up my speaker wires, the subwoofer, the HDMI input from my Amazon box, put the batteries in the remote, plugged the amplifier into the wall receptacle, turned it on, and my living room was instantly filled with loud undulating static in 5.1 surround sound. Checked all my connections and found no mistakes. Unplugged it from the wall, unhooked all the speakers and the HDMI cables, boxed it up and sent it back. I'm pretty sure I now know why the first purchaser returned it. BTW, this unit has a very bright blue light just below the power button. What were they thinking? Anyway, so much for trying to save a buck. Returned this Pyle and bought a Sony. ... show more

  • Nice
Works great no issues, would be great If it had push in’s for the wires,

  • Microphone inputs don’t work
The receiver works fine for radio and Bluetooth, but I bought it specifically because it has microphone inputs. However, a few months later, I tested the inputs, and the mic inputs do not work. I have 2 different microphones, and both work on other devices, but this Pyle receiver doesn’t even recognize that the mics have been plugged in. Of course it’s too late to return it. ... show more

  • Bang for your buck
I was worried about replacing my dinosaur of a kenwood and not paying with my first born, weighing half of what the trusty old kenwood did I was a bit worried, and yes the blue light is very bright. After some tuning playing around I can't believe the adjustability you have from the awesome remote control, my 20 year old subs and surround speakers have never sounded so good and my music can be heard from the alley to the street. My family has played it loud for long periods of time with no issues, bt is easy to use but will connect to whoever used it last and is in proximity, so often I come home and need to tell my 16 year old to turn off his bluetooth so I can connect my phone. Very happy and might need a second... ... show more

  • I really dislike the BRIGHT blue light when the unit is on...
I really dislike the BRIGHT blue light when the unit is on... but I absolutely HATE that it FLASHES when you turn it off with the remote. Looks like the cops are right outside your window!!! The only way to make it stop is to get up and physically push the "off" button on the unit. Who's "bright" idea was THAT? I also dislike that you have to cycle through the menu to get to HDMI EVERY TIME you turn it on, that's what I bought it for, and it REEEALLYY seems like it should remember where it was and go back to that by default. Instead you to have to go through several different options to get to HDMI and the desire TV picture, and THEN switch to a different sound option because it sounds like severe static on HDMI. Once it's on and functioning, it's OK, but I definitely would NOT purchase again In fact, if I had seen this unit on display in a store, I NEVER would have bought it! ... show more

  • Great for the price
I like the quality for the price the negatives is the bright blue light while on & and can’t power it with the remote control.

  • Good receiver but obnoxious blue light.
It’s mind boggling how Pyle could design such a good receiver but include a small, very bright blue light on the front of the unit. This light also stays on and flashes continuously when the unit is turned off. The blue light can easily be covered up with black electrical tape, it just doesn’t make any sense to have it so bright. ... show more
