  • Been to the range twice and love it
I could never hit my regular flex driver. I am a casual golfer, never been fitted for clubs and never had lessons. I just go with friends to have fun. I have always just bought clubs off the shelf which usually comes as regular flex. I have always had issues with my oversized drivers because of my club speed. I did not know this until someone pointed it out to me and let me try their stiff flex Ping driver. I crushed it straight down the fairway. Because of only being a casual golfer that doesn't go every weekend I did not want to spend an arm and a leg on a high priced Driver. I found this PXG on sale during Prime days and decided to give it a shot. I have only been to the driving range a few times so far but I am hitting it very straight off the tee. Loving it so far. ... show more

  • Love this driver
Great driver. Great price. I'm not that good of a golfer and this driver makes driving the ball mostly straight fun again.

  • Feels good- lightweight
Simple driver, forgiving. Unsure if it’s a stiff shaft or regular flex though- ordered stiff- but tends to go to the right more than I’m used to.

  • Stiff wasn’t stiff
I’m returning the driver. I ordered stiff shaft and it wasn’t stiff so throwing off my swing.

  • Couple of Generations Older at this time, but still a great option
Before I jump into this review, I wanted to mention the caps on trampoline effect enacted by the R&A and USGA in the early 2000s. Drivers and their interaction with golf balls in the early 2000s were getting too hot, so some caps were put in. Initially it was using coefficient of restitution, but there is another measure used to cap ball and driver technology. I say this because this is critical for driver technology. Although forgiveness, and distand on offcenter shots have greatly improved in the past 20+ years, the distance on well hit shots really have not. Why is this relevant for this review? Well, this driver at the time of this review is a couple of generations old. The newest driver from PXG is the Black Ops. I don't own the Black Ops driver, but I have the brand new AI Smoke from Callaway. I have the triple diamond model, which is more of a tour/players model. This Gen5 0311XF is a more game improvement model from a couple of generations ago from PXG. Using both side by side, they are equally hot when i hit them on the screws. They are both very forgiving, but the 311XF is definitely designed for game improvement. Has a lower center of gravity and is a bit more spinny than my triple diamond AI smoke. Who is this driver for? Someone who is looking for more height from their drivers. Someone who likes a big head on their drivers. This looks huge when looking down, very similar size when looking down to the newest Ping 10k driver. Also, someone who wants to save a bit of money buying a couple of generations older model. May not have the 10k MOI of some current drivers, but this is still a VERY forgiving driver. This driver won't be for me because I don't need height on drivers. The one I ordered came with a 50g Stiff shaft. Feels very light, and i can definitely swing fast with this driver. I think this is a GREAT cheaper option for people looking to get a bit more height and game improvement from their drivers. I do have a caveat...this thing is loud on impact. A very metallic cracking sound, as the marketing states, "kaboom!". I prefer more of the thwack sound of my AI smoke, but if you want to pop the ear drums of your playing partners...the 0311xf will achieve that. Since that is a matter of taste, I will let you determine if this sound is something you'd like. Overall, going a couple of generations back is not a bad idea...especially if you want to save a lot of money. new drivers are 600 dollars. This is a LOT cheaper...and really you aren't missing out on much. I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Nice feel, very light, large head, with smooth hits that sounds clean and solid.
The media could not be loaded. The GEN5 Golf Driver by PXG, is a nice performing driver that produces smooth, consistent hits with great pop. Here are some of the things I’ve learned about it while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Quality – I found the quality to be very nice with a durable feel. The finish, materials used and grip are all a respectable quality that have worked quite well for my needs. II. Performance – The grip is very comfortable and has a semi squishy rubbery feel to it. The head has a good weight to produce a solid contact, large surface area and good recoil. It has a solid hit to it that isn’t tingy or empty feeling, just a good pop and adequate range with good lift. Overall, this is a very nice driver, that gets the job done for me with minimal issues, while providing an enjoyable experience and durability. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. If you’d find it helpful to see a visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen or landscape. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it’s a video! You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision. ... show more

  • Great club for the price
I have a very expensive drivers like Ping and Taylormade. I thought I would give this a shot since it seems to have the same features as those expensive drivers but at a better price point. I'm glad I did. This golf driver is great. I can hit the almost as good off the tee as my Ping. I would compare this club more to my Taylormade driver but maybe even better. You can adjust the head and shaft seems to provide very good feel. If you're looking for a great driver and saving a few bucks then this is worth taking a shot on. I think you'll be as surprised as me on how nice this club is. ... show more
