This is by far the best mattress I have every slept on. I have bad back and hip pain so much so I can’t sleep due to the pain I’m in. I purchased a full in order to try it out before going bigger. My husband and I have purchased 4 mattresses this year alone, none of which were worth the hundreds of dollars we spent. As a last resort instead of spending big bucks again I thought why not try this. In my own personal opinion if you have hip and back pain give this a try you won’t regret it. Lay it on the floor and once you lay on it your like hummm not sure how this feels. Lay there for 30 minutes at least then turn to the other for 30. After that get up. As strange as it may sound the pain is gone. No one asked me to post any of this I always review every item I purchase and this is absolutely amazing. I plan on ordering a queen size for my other bedroom next week. Try it you won’t be disappointed. I’ll be laying it on a platform bed. This is the most comfortable and softest cushion I have ever slept on. I bought it to put on top of my bed because my mattress was hard as a rock and I can only sleep on a soft bed. This by far is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Would definitely recommend!

Used this for almost a year with a tatami floor mat. I never woke up with aches and pains, as I do with memory foam beds. It does take some getting used to, though. I bought this Japanese futon wondering if I made the right choice, and I totally did. You have to let it off gas and “fluff” up for at least 24 hours after you unbox it,(mine had a “spicy” smell to it, I was not mad!) and every couple of weeks, it is good to flip it around, and “beat” it up, to make sure the rushed cotton in the interior doesn’t go flat. It’s perfect for any minimalist who is trying to conserve resources and space, and great for those who are willing to try something different to work on having better posture, or who are fed up waking up with pain from the damage of using memory foam for years. ... show more

    • Cool and Comfortable till My cat peed on it.
Was very comfortable. I bought one a year ago in black and wanted another one to have incase I had guests over. However, my cat didn't appreciate it as much and so I had to throw it away. I ended up buying 2 twin size ones which are easier to story away. Although, the cat doesn't seem to mind those as much.... ... show more

It is a very nice futon, and it's comfortable to sleep on. Yes, there is a smell, but I suspect it is cotton smell. Much easier to handle than air mattresses !
