My cats are spoiled junk food devourer and no matter how much I try “tough love”, they beat me in this game. The youngest cat is now 8 years old and has some food sensitivities. The others (older) have issues too and I’ve been trying to feed them healthy, nutritious food but until I found Purina ProPlan lamb & rice I wasted a lot of money on expensive foods they refused to eat. The other day my trouble maker Fritz stared at me until I paid attention to him. In no uncertain terms did he make it clear to me that the food dispenser with the lamb & rice kibble was empty, which was totally unacceptable! Dang, those cats trained me well, lol! By the time I got back with the bag, 4 cats were waiting on me to get their due! Since I’ve been feeding this food I noticed glossier fur, less stinky poop, less soft stools, less puking. I appreciate the bite-sized kibble without unnecessary coloring very much. Purina also makes the same kibble from turkey & oats. Yes, it’s fairly expensive but if I take my cats health in consideration, it’s money well spent. I highly recommend this great product to all my friends! Update 05/18/23 Before my monthly subscription was due to arrive, the Lamb & Rice was devoured! Literally not a crumb left! Since it’s still 13 days for the shipment to arrive, I had to order a new bag because even my mildest mannered cat Teddy kept walking by the dispenser giving me sad eyes & meows! They have 4 dry food dispensers available with a variety of kibble at all times but the PURINA Sensitive Skin lamb & rice is their favorite. I never leave reviews, but just after one month, I saw a massive difference in the thickness of my cats coat. It actually made me feel kind of bad that I’ve been feeding her cheaper brands all this time. She is SO soft and healthy now, and has more energy. I just bought a big bag for the dogs to see if it will do the same thing. Try it! On my third bag now! ... show more

It is crunchy but not hard. The size is great. Encourages good chewing which helps with tarter our large make cat has a few stomach issues. But not one hairball incident since we got this about a week ago. Our little female cat is the picky one. Spoiled her so she thinks treats r the food she suppose to eat no just put a few treats mixed in with her new food and she is learning. It is pretty good . The male cat has love it since we opened the bag trying to help get it out of the bag with his paw. The cats are different ..And I am so glad the big guy is enjoying his food more..Especially with his sensitive tummy and hairball issues ... show more

    • Great food for cats with vomiting and IBD issues - but my cats only like the lamb and rice formula!

What I like: I have a cat with chronic pancreatitis and inflammatory bowel disease evidenced by nausea and vomiting. He has failed ALL treatment other than injected steroids which we did not like (he developed LVH as a result). - I can tell you this is the FIRST food I have ever come across that actually stopped his nausea (and the occasional diarrhea). He is currently on NO meds except we have Cerenia on hand, and I attribute it to this food. Problems: Cats have to actually like the food which is always an issue with our three cats. They liked the lamb and rice formula (dry food). I have tried both the turkey and the tuna thinking they would like those flavors but they won't touch these. I have now wasted the $ on these two flavors; should have stuck with the lamb and rice. Other problem: Cat with the IBD and pancreatitis has gained a lot of weight as dry food has a lot of carbs. Additionally, our diabetic cat's blood glucose issues have gotten out of control, possibly due to the carbs. So - this is a positive review with qualifications! Just keep in mind that your cat(s) may like one flavor but not the others AND dry food is high in carbs which can cause weight gain and blood glucose control issues in diabetic cats. IF your only concern is vomiting and/or diarrhea, then this food is definitely a game-changer. ... show more

Benji (solid orange) has terrible itching spells that concerned my husband and I. The vet sounds a little costly to jump for immediately. So we started at square one changing the food that he’s eating. This kibble has several beneficial ingredients and I feel good feeding the boys this food. I also like the fact that this food does not have an offensive odor. They’re fur is so soft and smooth now. They look much healthier overall. Benji and Riley really enjoy the lamb flavor as well. We approve and subscribed to have a regular shipment for the boys! ... show more

Our 12 year old Gray Tabby began having diarrhea over a year ago and we immediately thought it was going to be the big "C" and we were going to watch her decline. 3 visits to the Vets and they said she has some kind of digestive issues and prescribed special prescription cat food. We tried that but it had no effect so we decided to buy her chicken and boiled it and fed it to her. She improved some but still had diarrhea. We tried different foods, some powder additives, etc. and nothing seemed to work. This had been going on for over a year! We finally tried this dry cat food (along with the Costco Kirkland Brand wet food) and she is back to her (very bad) old kitty self!!! No diarrhea for the past month!!!! Just wish we had known about this food a year ago! It's cheaper than the Rx food. If your kitty has digestive issues, try this food ASAP. *We were worried that she wouldn't like the food but she loves it! ... show more
