Of course, I was skeptical. A friend of mine who is a veterinarian sent me a link to this "great new food that reduces allergens." I've always liked cats but could never have one. At the time, I had recently agreed to rescue an older cat who was living out at the barn, because I was allergic to cats, so he wasn't able to come inside. I decided to give this a try. He's a very friendly cat and so badly wanted to snuggle and sit in my lap, and I'd leave in a sneezing, asthmatic mess. But I took my allergy medicine, washed my hands after, and dealt with the sneezing and issues. It was okay since I could separate outside/barn clothes and time, from inside clothes. When we ended up having to move, if I was going to bring our cat, I knew he'd have to come inside with us. It began first with a surgery where he needed to stay inside to heal, and I figured it would be the best first test to see if I could notice a difference, or be potentially sent to the hospital again because of allergy induced asthma attacks (this happened the last time I lived with a cat inside the house). Fast forward over a year later, he lives inside with us, I can hold and love on him (as long as I don't let him drool on me, which he tries), and don't sneeze, don't need to use my inhaler, and I live allergy free with a cat for the first time in my life! It's easy to forget that I am allergic to cats at all at first when I go to friends houses, whose cats are not on a special diet. But his drool still does make me itchy, but I can deal with that. I would prefer to feed him a higher protein, wet food, but alas, Purina is the only company who makes such a food, and I supplement it with a high quality wet food. According to the science, I believe, so long as his main diet is the kibbles, he can have wet food and supplements and it does not effect the efficacy of the allergy reducing science. ... show more

I developed terrible cat allergies in my late 30s... rashes, hives, etc. A couple of strays entered my home before a snow storm and this food was recommended to me to help until I found their owners. Before the recommended 3 weeks were up I could pet the cats with no consequence- they could even cuddle up to me. I never did find their owners and now whenever anyone else with a cat allergy visits, they have no reactions either. We have been using this brand for a few years now. During the pandemic we got cats again, though we said we wouldn’t, but we got lonely. Two new cats later our allergies were acting us and I got them this. They love the salmon flavor and we can tell a noticeable difference. Now they have a weight control version we plan on trying next but the allergy reducer really works! Our cats are not picky eaters but 2 years down and everybody is happy! We had an international move coming up and in consideration of others…I started feeding this food. I will 1000% continue feeding him this so he can be the social guy he likes to be. Multiple people have commented on their lack of reaction to him and I noticed my seasonal allergies became less severe after he started eating this. The product actually works as advertised, but your cat needs to be on the food for a minimum of 30 days before you'll notice any results. If you have severe allergies and sensitivity to cat allergens this won't change your life, but it will make things more pleasant around cats.
