I've been purchasing this since 3/2019 for my borzoi puppy in addition to dry food. I have a Purina for Professionals account (but can only buy a limited number of cases/bags per month), from brick and mortar stores, and through amazon. Lately I've been having a lot of problems with receiving dented cans direct through purina, they arrive perfectly safe and sound every time from amazon. Price is much higher but my puppy eats two cans of just wet food a day so when I run out I run out. It's puppy food so it smells gross, my dog loves it. As a veterinarian I get asked about food/nutrition all the time. It's a headache for dog owners who want safe quality food. Keep in mind how much of your money goes into marketing and pick a food that your pet likes, eats consistently, doesn't cause GI/skin issues, and that you can afford and feel comfortable with. I've fed many brands and have been using Purina for dogs and horses for many years. They stay out of the news and quality control seems satisfactory. ... show more

I was doing more expensive grain free stuff, but my vet said that grain free isn't necessarily the best option since there have been many studies suggesting that strictly grain free diets can lead to canine heart problems later in life. He recommended Purina Pro Plan (as well as a couple other brands like Iams Eukanaba and Royal Canin). So far my pup's coat is looking great and she's growing at a good rate. I have an almost 3-month-old goldendoole. He came to my house last weekend, so he is still nervous about the new environment. I bought him some dry food, but it seems like he is not interested in that. So my uncle recommended to let him try wet food. Luckily, he loves this and his appitite has increased to a regular basis. The only thing I worry about now is that I heard it would be better for the puppy to have both dry food and wet food, not only one of them. But that's a future consideration. I feel so happy that I find dog food that my puppy really likes for now! ... show more

Hi there so my puppy was rescued from Mexico and he was alarming how malnourished. The vet told me that food that was "non grain" is actually found to be problematic due to heart problems... I have also found on my own that it does not provide enough fiber when a dog is pooing to help empty the anal glands... My dogs that have been on non grain food begin to scoot and then it causes sores that can easily get infected...I started cooking some brown rice and tossed it in with canned food (NOT THIS FOOD) and within days the problem went away. THAT SAID.. with this food I no longer have to put the extra rice in because it has it... withing days my puppy started gaining weight after I fed him this... Hope this helps. ... show more

If I could rate 0 stars I would. I opened the first can ready to feed my dog and I realized it looked a little off, so I smelled it and it smelled absolutely disgusting also. Thinking it was just one can I discarded it and opened another one, then another, and another, until I realized that all of them must be spoiled. Our growing puppy loves this food so I ordered a case from Amazon and every single can is bad. When you open it you can tell the food is old/oxidized by the appearance but it doesn’t really smell ‘off’ since it’s dog food. I didn’t realize it at first so gave her a few feedings which caused her to have copious amounts of diarrhea all night long. Threw the rest out. ... show more

I received the cans yesterday. This morning I opened the plastic wrap around the cans and all cans were dented. I opened one can and it made a weird pop noise and had an odd odor. I couldn't feed to my puppy she is too little to risk any health issues. I tried to start a return on Amazon and the auto response said cans were unable to be returned. Please be aware if you order this its unable to be returned. Now I have to discard the cans as I cannot even donate them for fear of any other puppy getting sick. I started off using Purina Pro Plan shredded chicken and meat (dry food) for puppies with my older dog and now she's on the same for adults. She will literally eat the whole bowl in one day plus more if I let her. So when we got a new puppy and began to wean her off of her mother's milk, we decided to try this. She loves it. Now she will eat the whole can plus more if we let her. The taste is hands down the best part (i'm sure) in my dogs' opinion and the ingredients look pretty decent too. However, the greatest part about this dog food to me is that it improves my dogs' coat. There aren't any stores around me that carry the Purina Pro Plan line, so sometimes I have to use other dog food until this one is delivered. There is a major difference in both dogs coat. I have a maltese mix and cocker spaniel mix. Also, the cocker spaniel mix has terrible puppy breathe, but not so much with this. Product arrived as stated.
