Yes, this has corn syrup, and other "processed food" elements that are probably not the best for your dog. BUT it is tasty and soft and if you have an older dog that finds it hard to eat hard dog food, and either can't or don't want to spend money and the effort to feed canned dog food, this is a good option. MY dog is a picky eater and the Purina Moist and Meaty line of food is his favorite. ONE issue.. is with THIS particular listing.. there is an error. Man, our dogs love this stuff. We actually use it more as a treat than as regular food. Not sure how it stacks up price-wise, nor nutrition-wise to other dogfood...but considered as a snack, it's the greatest bargain ever. Our #1 use for this is to sprinkle it abundantly on the floor when they need a distraction (from barking at someone, freaking out over guests, fighting, etc.). Usually, they have Steak flavor or Burger and Cheese Moist n Meaty, which they love, but this is one they gobbled up fast! I’m glad Amazon has this flavor available. This is my dog's new favorite food! She loves the fact that its slightly moist and not boring dry dog food. I have a picky dog and that requires that I change what food she is eating from time to time - well change no more. She now eats this for breakfast each morning and LOVES it! My picky eater also doesn't like to eat when I'm not around - such as when friends or family are boarding her - but if they bring this out she will eat without any protest. The only downside in my opinion is that they do not have a Grain Free option - which i would prefer just because the other food she eats for dinner is grain free and i think it would be better for her system if that could be more consistent. ... show more

Our 15 year old Beagle has been suffering with health problems for about 6 months. It got to the point that she wouldn’t even eat canned food with extra gravy! I tried every brand and type of food. Then I tried these packets and she ate them until the end of her life. I have a friend whose Cocker Spaniel was also going through the same thing so I gave her a box of these. My dogs are getting older and I’m trying to switch them to softer food. They’ve done well with canned food but I wanted to try something a bit easier to feed. However, I found that they won’t eat this. I tried using it as a treat and they simply dropped it on the floor. This reaction to the food surprised me because I used to have dogs that would eat it.
