  • THEY LIKE IT!!!!
Size: 5.5 Ounce (Pack of 24) Style: Pate Color: Turkey & Giblets Dinner
UPDATE: Sorry, thought I was reviewing the recently available “Friskies Shreds With Turkey & Giblets” product, but, now I see this actual product is the “Pate Turkey & Giblets Dinner.” They enjoyed the “Pate” version, but, I want to say they like the Shreds version” even more. I’d guess Purina HAD to improve the flavor/taste of the shredded product (practically a colloidal suspension) in it”s gravy, for palatability, etc. Original 11/22 Review: I probably don’t need to tell you, how “finicky” cats eating habits can be, and, how perplexing that can become! Lately I’ve been feeding 9 to 13 cats, and, their reaction(s) seem to be unanimous, THEY LIKE IT! 😸 I assess the “desirability” of this product based upon them preferring it to Purina’s ‘Fancy Feast - Beef Feast In Gravy - Grilled 3 oz. version, also a “shredded” type product……they enjoy the gravy, but, seem to not like the Fancy Feast “shreds”. These 5.5 oz. cans, contain 83% more cat food than the 3oz. cans, costs less than the 3oz./24-ct. product, and, tastes better to the cats! (go figure…..) ... show more

  • My cat loves Friskies
Size: 5.5 Ounce (Pack of 24) Style: Pate Color: Mariner's Catch
The ease of getting the cat food and the price alone is worth getting it online. So many stores have empty shelves and it can't just be because of an aluminum shortage from China. The delivery of the box was extra fast and because the weather can be a factor this time of year I was impressed with the early time it came. Thank You. ... show more

  • Cats eat it, so I pay the price
Size: 5.5 Ounce (Pack of 24) Style: Pate Color: Salmon Dinner
Pate is the ONLY way to go. All the varieties with gravy, contain a LOT of water. And with the prices consumers are being charged now, if you want gravy, just add some of your own water and make a soup like texture yourself. Unless you enjoy paying a fortune for water. My kitties love these pates, and so.... I will pay, over the top prices. But, not for ones that are mostly.... water. AKA... gravy. At least the pate gives you something for your money. And, while my gang does love the ones with gravy.. my wallet much prefers... pates. ... show more

  • They All Eat It
Size: (24) 5.5 oz. Cans Style: Pate Color: Chicken & Tuna Dinner
This is the one food all my cats will eat. Not thrilled with the smell, but it is less offensive than some, and I'm not the one who has to eat it.

  • Cans show up dented
Size: 5.5 Ounce (Pack of 24) Style: Pate Color: Mixed Grill
The cans are so dented that some of them popped open and the juice leaked throughout the box. I worry about using the dented cans that don't seem to be open in case there are holes too small to be seem but large enough for bacteria to get in. I had to throw a lot of them away. This has happened on several shipments. ... show more

  • Cats love it
Size: (24) 5.5 oz. Cans Style: Pate Color: Chicken & Tuna Dinner
I’m trying to figure out how to get my cat to answer if they love the smell and the taste. I guess they do. 7 of them. All prefer this particular one. Sometimes we get a shipment and they all turn their noses up and scratch to cover it up, that started happening in 2020. Some cases they are thrilled with, others they won’t eat. • 7 cats are rating 7 paws up.
Size: (24) 5.5 oz. Cans Style: Pate Color: Classic Seafood Entrée
I'm not sure why some cat food gets a bad review because a cat doesn't eat it. We have 7 here in our rural home, plus some strays that stop by for a meal, and though they can be finicky they all eat pretty much what we put in front of them when they're hungry. They get fed 3 times a day and canned food is the morning meal so perhaps having nothing out from about 6 PM to 6 AM makes this pretty inviting. We have one cat that's about 17 years old and all she can eat is canned food. I can't say how good it is but at less than 45 cents a can (including shipping) it's less than at the local food store that happens to be about 45 miles away... as is the Vet. We feed them dry food (the grain free expensive kind) for the other 2 meals a day so the canned food is also a bargain. We had a cat develop some urinary problems: bladder stones which restricted her ability to urinate and caused some bleeding and she was trying to urinate all day long to help relieve the irritation. The Vet claimed it was from the poor ingredients in some dry cat food that causes the stones because the cat can't process enough liquid to handle the food. He wanted to put her on a special diet with a Science Diet dry special blend for Urinary Tract and then onto one of their regular formula kibble for life. That seemed a little useless because we were feeding the cats some decent kibble to begin with like Purina One. We did a search and found that it was true that a lot of filler in most dry cat food was grain and that is hard for cats to process. The diet we found involved a home made cat food of grinding up some rabbit and chicken and adding some vitamins. Tried it and it worked but it was a mess to make, rabbit is not cheap or easy to find and it takes up a lot of freezer space. Back to another search and a viable alternative seemed to be canned cat food, with some limitations, and a grain free kibble. The canned food doesn't have as much fillers and the main ones for us are poultry, fish & meat varieties in pâté or gravy form. That's what the cats are on now and the kidney/urinary problem is gone, their coats are nicer, their urine is more, but urinates fewer times, now because they don't have to consume so much water to process the grain feed and they really seem to like what they're eating. We feed them Friskies & 9-lives in the cans and Blue Buffalo Wilderness, Merrick Before Grain, Felidae or Taste of the Wild in dry food. The dry food is getting pricier, the bags are getting smaller and the free shipping deals are disappearing so it's more of a challenge now to get a deal but when we do we buy extra. Can't say enough about how well this new diet seems to be working and any saved trip to a Vet pays for a lot of food. What we're doing is based on the information provided by Lisa A. Pierson, DVM on Making Cat Food (catinfo.org) and she is of the opinion that cats need the bones which makes the grinding process more difficult. We still feed them some kibble because feeding 7 cats, plus some strays, gets pretty expensive. It's a shame packaging is getting smaller and prices do nothing but remain the same or go up. We purchase the Merrick and Wild Buffalo grain free dry foods and the bags are now down to 11 lbs. each. However, when doing the math the canned food is still less expensive per serving. Thanks for your comments. As long as Amazon keeps giving deals on this we'll keep buying it, the cats will keep eating it and that's worth 5 stars... in my opinion. We have Subscribe & Save on some but that'll probably disappear soon since it's heavy to ship and it's recently disappeared on some of the bagged food or the price has gone up significantly. I'm posting this same review to every cat food we purchased rather than editing each to fit the particular brand. Update: it seems the 9-Lives from Amazon that are gravy based seem much dryer than previous purchases. The gravy is almost a gel like substance where the cans from the local stores are still pretty wet. Not sure what's up here but all the cans are well within the date range. If it continues... and the price continues to rise we'll stop buying them and even with 15% off and free shipping they cost more than at the food store... about 10 bucks for a 24-pack is pretty much what we pay at the food store though we will pay a bit more just to have it come in a case. ... show more
