I wanted something to use in my garden instead of my weed eater. This are a great helper to work around my plants without harming or fearing that I might cut them with the weed eater. Also, works well around the house.

I contend the steel used for these are mild-steel of poor quality -- which accounts for the inability to maintain a sharp edge on tool after even short periods of use. At first, it worked quite well at stripping grass and weeds from the top soil. But soil/dirt is the fastest way to dull a blade quickly. For that kind of use you need a high-quality carbon stainless steel to hold the blade edge to high sharpness. It takes lots of work sharpening this poor-quality steel to keep it sharp enough to cut through soil. And the angle of the blade to the handle seems to be for short people. average and tall people must bend over to make the blade sink into the soil. Hard work, especially when the blade is dull. I used all grades of grit whet-stones and found the sharpening to be nearly impossible. I don't recommend this tool because of the very poor quality steel to hold the sharpness of blade, and the angle of the blade. Not sure if this carbon steel is too brittle to bend the blade to the preferred angle. Not at all impressed. But with as high quality steel, this tool would be indispensable for gardening and lawn use. But, it's just poorly made of low-quality mild-steel that rusts quickly and cannot hold a sharp edge, not be easily sharpened.
