This has a slight lemon-like scent, which is fine if that's what you like. It does feel better than the non-moisturizing hand sanitizers since it doesn't dry your hands out as badly. That's coming from someone who lives for lotion. I do wish it came in different scents.

I have used several different versions of Purell's Hand sanitizers over the last couple of years, but this is my favorite version. It feels a bit more watery than their other versions, but that is one of the things I like about it. It gives you cleaner and less caked-on sticky feel than other versions. It dries quick enough, but not too quick. Plus, it has a great scent that is not overbearing at all. Best scent of all of them. I only wish this version came in much larger, economy sized ( 33 oz or more ) bottles, like some other versions do. I use these 4 packs to refill some touch-less dispensers I have all around my home, so I do not even use the pump on top. But they get used up fairly fast, and I wish I could buy larger bottles. ... show more

Wanted to find a hand sanitizer that doesn’t dry my hands. Due to my profession have to clean my hands upwards of 40 times a day. Other hand sanitizers leave flaky residue after washing so often, or turn into a big gel mess the next time you wash with soap and water, or the smell won't wash off your hands. This has a barely-discernible pleasant lemon smell, does NOT leave any flaky residue (unless I use lotion or moisturizer some time during the day and then sanitize again), doesn't dry my hands too much, doesn't feel slimy going on, evaporates well and quickly, doesn't expand into gross sticky gel when you use soap and water later. About 2 decades ago, I used a moisturizing formula hand sanitizer by Purell that I absolutely LOVED. The scent was so soft and pleasant. This isn't it. I was so hoping that they'd brought it back. The consistency of this formula is a little watery so if you're not careful, too much will come out of the flip top bottle. It does leave your hands soft feeling and absorbs nicely but I can't speak for the long term moisturizing benefit. I'm not sure I'll be keeping this... The smell is...I think it was an attempt at a spa sort of fragrance. Tolerable I guess? To me it's almost borderline sickening, though. It starts off with a lemongrass type smell, then fades to something like an old cheap cologne/perfume that reminds me of hugging someone's grandparent. A clean grandparent, at least. Bottom line--not a fan, but it's not strong enough at arms length to keep bothering me. I had to stop myself from keeping smelling my hands though, trying to place the scent. This is a brand I've trusted for many years but for the price of this particular product, it's not a winner in my book. If smells are a factor for you, I'd try to check this out at a brick and mortar store first before you buy here. You might get it cheaper at a store, too. ... show more
