If you are looking for a great starter board for a young girl, this one should definitely be on your list. My daughter just took up skateboarding and loves this board. It functions as good as it looks! The price is comparable to those cheap ones you see at the box stores, but this skateboard has better components by far (great trucks, and good wheels, and a great deck.). For a beginner (and even intermediate skater) you want to have soft flexible trucks (The square component the wheels attach to) that will allow the rider to make easier turns. The ones in the box store are typically very hard making the ride uncomfortable and hard to maneuver. Even if you don't buy this one, do your skater a favor and do not buy a store bought prefab toy. Buy them the real deal, they will enjoy it more and be more apt to stay with it. ... show more

My daughter needed her first skate board so we bought this one based on some of the positive reviews and appearance. For a "beginner" board this one is quite good. It seems to be very sturdy and built well and the graphics on it are great. Some of my daughter's friends did some more advanced tricks and skating on it and it held up well. One thing though is the trucks on it are very tight and will need to be loosened a bit to make the board more responsive, but that's easy enough to fix with a small wrench. After reading all or the reviews, I was very doubted about this board. Once I got it though, I liked it a lot. The bearings are decent, and oiling them and loosening the wheels will let them roll with their full capacity. The trucks are great, although I don't know how to grind so I don't know if they are too durable or not. The graphic is great. The only thing I immediately noticed it the deck of the board is kind of thick, which makes the board heavier, and a bit more stable, and the griptape is just meh, not very grippy, but really this board is a 11/11 for starters. ... show more

Well, I don't really have any complaints about the skateboard, but I do have a lot of things i like about it. First of all, the deck is very sturdy; you can tell it's not just another cheap board. Second, I love the design on the underside. My first time seeing the design I said "This is the one." I also like the stickers that came in the box. I've already put one on my laptop. I'm not the skater in the house but I know and thing or two about a thing or three. I purchased this to replace the super cheap Target brand board my son ran through in under a month. The board itself held up well for being the second board of a learning skater. My son has now put this board on the Trophy Wall because it was the board that he learned the most off of. It was light enough for him to finally get his Ollie down and I've heard that's important so there. Also, the fact that my boy is pretty stout, the board was able to hold up to his every and constant beatings as he learned tricks for the first time. The reason for the lack of a full five stars is because of the bearings, wheels, and trucks which are extremely important to really finding their balance and ability in skating. To me, when a child is first learning the in and outs of this art form, it's imperative to have above decent bearings and trucks as being able to roll through or over the streets small pebbles can save many unwanted accidents. How else is a kid gonna want to continue skating? Being able to avoid the silly abrupt stops due to an insignificant pebble is vitally important. Additionally, being able to handle a good curve while remaining in a decent speed is also important and this can't happen if the hardware is subpar. Now, the included hardware and wheels were good enough for a skate park but came up wanting when in the street. The fact that it did roll better than the target brand is the reason that I gave three stars which in my opinion is acceptable. Five stars would be if this product in it's entirety went above and beyond which is did not accomplish. ... show more
