Those two times a year I decide the dust and grime in my car are too much to stand, this comes in handy for things like the console area, most of the dash board, exposed plastic parts, etc. But I found it more trouble than it was worth for the AC vents and deeper crevices.     • Works well, even outside of the car
I ordered this specifically to use in our cars, but quickly began using it elsewhere... specifically our office. We have a black desk, black laptops, black monitor stands, and a black printer. Dust. Collects. Everywhere. Since this does best with smaller debris (like dust), I figured this was the perfect place to try it and I was right. It easily cleaned the keyboards and awkward charging areas of the desk as well as the ledges and crevices of our monitor stands. It still does a great job in the car, especially on those surfaces that car wipes and microfiber cloths can't seem to get allllll the dust from! NOTE: IT DOESN'T SMELL LIKE ORANGES. I was worried about that, even though it doesn't say anything about being scented, but I was relieved that it doesn't have any added scents. Also, not sticky to the skin! ... show more

    • Picks Up Loose Debris
So this will work for loose dust, dirt, crumbs, ect, but not things that are stuck on. Still have to get a soapy rag out for those things. I don't think that this was ever intended to be like a magic eraser for a dirty car so I'm not expecting it to do that. I think a great use is to get down into crevices that a brush or rag have a hard time getting to and for spot cleaning out the console without needing to get a vacuum out. I'd say the consistency of this is hard slime so it won't fall apart, but not liquidy either. ... show more

I know the reviews are mixed on this product so I'll try to clear it up. This gel is very similar to slime or putty that your kids may play with, may even be the same. It's fairly firm so if you push it against your vents like it shows and pick it back up it's not going to fall apart. I wouldn't shove it way up into the vents but rather let it mold around the vent naturally. It will pick up dust, dirt, small crumbs, etc. If you've spilled a drink or something in your cup holder and it's dried and hardened, no this will not get it out. Same with food, if it's something that has dried onto a surface it will not come off without some soap and water, baby wipe, or car cleaning wipe. I have several small detailing brushes for cars that are meant for dust. And even with those it doesn't always grab the dust but rather moves it around. This gel will actually pick up the dust and remove it rather than knock it off to your floor or whatever is below the area you're cleaning. So if you go into this with those expectations in mind I don't think you'll be disappointed. But if you think this is a miracle gel that will remove a 2 week old spill, it's not! Worst case if you have kids they'll love it as slime. My daughter has tried taking it many times to play with. ... show more

    • Interesting idea...
This is a niche product that might be worth a try for you as well as it was me. The putty is not like... sticky, but things stick to it if that makes sense. It is not sticky to the touch but you could for instance, use it to clean coffee grounds out of the corners of your counter and that sticks to the putty pretty good. I know the use is for it to be used in the car to detail and get dust out of the vent grills, and that works if you are very gentle. However in my car I used it to clean up crumbs and crap that had gathered on the base of my stick shift and in my cup holders and it helped clean there. All in all, it is probably worth it but then again, you could just grab some duct tape and accomplish the same thing. ... show more

    • Good for lifting dust and light stains
I was hoping this putty would miraculously pick up the dirt in the crevices in my car (e.g. just inside the vents, steering wheel folds, etc.) but it's not abrasive nor firm enough to shape. It's a goopy putty that has a bit of tack and forms around surfaces. Thus, the best use case is for lifting dust (as the product description states) and perhaps some mild stain (which I was able to do). If you need to clean dirt, you'll need a brush that go into the crevices. This putty could probably help pick up the dirt you dislodge with your brush. Also, note that it's putty that could break into smaller globs of putty if you press too hard so don't try wedging it into a deep crevice, else you will find yourself spending time trying to rescue the putty that broke off. Deducting one star for not exactly meeting my use case but it does do what it says (i.e. lifts dust). ... show more

I love my car being clean. Being married with children, I feel like it's the only this I can have complete control of. I've never used one of these before and I absolutely hate it when there is a build up of something in a crevace that only gets more compacted as you try to wipe it down. This changes the detailing game. Removes the dirt out of the hard to clean areas and it's cheap enough to replace after it stops working, so even though you can't wash it, it's easy to replace. ... show more

Honestly, I was expecting a lot better. It doesn’t really pick up grime or dirt out of crevices well at all. I’m better off with a Q-tip and some generic cleaner. It doesn’t really flow to get into those tight spaces. Even at room temperature, or a little above, it doesn’t really flow and you can’t really push it into the crevices very well. The scent is pleasant but frankly the product is near useless. I’ve tried kneading it a bit in my hands first, and that didn’t really do anything either. Not sure why they put an expiration date on the product. Mine expires in about two years from the date, I got it. It says to keep it away from Children as it is not edible, but it doesn’t list any toxicity information or whether it’s harmful if somebody did swallow it or what to do or anything. For that reason, I don’t think I can recommend it. ... show more
