Description

The PRS SE NF3 is a distinct guitar in the PRS lineup. The heart of this guitar is a trio of PRS Narrowfield pickups, a first for the SE Series. Supporting these pickups is a poplar body, 22-fret bolt-on maple neck, and the choice of either a rosewood or maple fretboard. The SE NF3 is a versatile workhorse guitar that is fun to play and hard to put down. The Narrowfield DD (Deep Dish) “S” pickups are made with taller bobbins to fit more winds and extra metal pieces in between the magnets for a more focused, powerful tone. Anchored with PRS’s patented tremolo, this guitar can bend and flutter with ease. Perfect for rock, blues, gospel, country, or jazz the PRS SE NF3 can punch, cry, lay down, or sing – as you like it.

Needs locking tuners and a bone nut. Tones are inspiring! Great guitar. If you have dirty hands you may want the dark fretboard. I am a pool repair man and the maple frets are already looking dirty and I’ve only been on it for a couple hours. Excellent guitar

I thought this was pretty cool when I got it, but I didn't play it too much in the first 6 months. I actually tried to sell it on Facebook Marketplace, but with the glut of used gear, I didn't get any takers. I'm grateful no one bought it, because I started playing it more and have been playing it almost exclusively in my weekly jam with friends for the last few months. This has become a keeper. I normally would have blocked the floating trem, but this one stayed in tune so well, that I've left it floating. I rarely have to tune it after I've been playing it for a while. It is definitely not a Strat, but is super clear for a humbucker. I use the treble, middle and bass positions, but I don't like the middle (2,4) positions at all. I think the Blue Metallic is the best looking of all the colors. It came set up so well right out of the box. Low action and feels fast. Bends are easy and predictable. I like having a little more output than a Strat single coil if we're really rocking out. Playing this trough my Tweed Deluxe sounds huge. ... show more

    • Super heavy, near 10lbs
PRS SE are bad guitars even for the price. The USA team doesn’t quality control them enough. I have received bad paint jobs, guitars that won’t stay in tune, action 5mm at 12th fret, and Wong parts. I made the mistake 4 times now. Bent selector switch on the PRS SE swamp ash special. PRS SE silver sky that’s setup is soooo bad won’t stay in tune for any amount of time. Thus guitar looks ok, but geez it’s 10 lbs, that’s the way to get a herniated disc. Run away from PRS, the quality of their SE line is aweful, again I made the mistake 4 times in 12 months and keep giving them benefit of doubt. Never again! ... show more

Came setup beautifully. Had to re-adust the bridge (I think the guitar can with 10s. I replace them with 9s so the bridge was mis adjusted a bit). Other than that, plays great. Frets are beautifully done and it sounds awesome! It stays in tune well for a new bridge. Recommeded buy. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

Like a lot of other people, I got this to try the NF3 pickups. They are little humbuckers, not sure how Paul Smith can say they sound 'exactly like single coils' because they most certainly do not. But they sound good and they buck the hum. Fret ends were super sharp on the treble side up past the 12th fret. I got a set of the PRS SE locking tuners but the tuners that came with this are fine. The nut was not glued in. I got a Leo Jaymz guitar with a loose nut, but expected more from a company that says it inspects its SEs when they come in from Indonesia. Otherwise it seemed set up, though I was able to get the action lower (a plus!) and the electronics and bridge are good quality. Put in a treble bleed - it really make a huge difference as the stock volume pot is almost an on/off switch it drops so fast. Still giving it 5 stars because after I fixed it up it's a really great instrument. ... show more

Bought it used here. The frets where sharp,untouched at factory somehow. Knew how to fix it with a Amazon fret file. Now it has amazingly low action. Pickups are different then regular single coils. They take awhile to get used to, that's I wanted, different then fender. Neck great, body is flawless. Thanx to who ever sent it back, got a great deal! ... show more

    • G string doesn't tune
II have to return. G string does't go back to the zero point when you pull, push, the tremolo bar. Bend the g string sometimes. All the PRS SE with the tremolo have the same problem. I tried many in Guitar Center that I am banned to trying any PRS SE's. I don't know if S2 have the same problem but my 89, and 90's PRS didn't have the problem. ... show more
