I really wish I had taken a video as I assembled this desk. I did it completely by myself as my hubby wasn't around, and I am not the patient type. : D First of all it is heavy solid wood. Wow! I was worried that for this price I would be really disappointed, but all the reviews gave me the confidence to take the chance. I am so happy I did. The wood is beautiful and the hardware looks very nice. So as for assembly, the only trick I had to perform was to find a cardboard box that would hold they bottom shelf in place as I inserted and tightened those screws. I just measured the size I needed and easily found one. (approx 20 inches) The desk is assembled upside down. Also, a little tricky to keep the drawer from flying out while you turn it topside down. Just do it on carpet and you'll be fine. If truth be known, I had a few glasses of wine before the assembly,,,so there's your proof (a drunk lady can assemble this desk.. LOL). Tighten evenly as the directions tell you, rather than one bolt all the way tightened on the first time around. Yeah, the little mini screwdriver is tiny in your hand, but since I have small hands, it worked just fine for me. I'm going to use this table as a computer table that can second as a sewing table. The one side of the bottom shelf will hold my portable sewing machine and the other will hold my desktop. It's sooooo PERFECT!...YAY!!!! ... show more

I have a tiny office and this is a delight. It's heavy and beautiful, so it doesn't feel flimsy at all. I love the pull out drawer with the fold down front for my keyboard. The low shelves are great as a footrest and for reference books. Putting it together was very straightforward, would be easier if you have a helping hand, but can certainly be done alone. This product is really nice at a very affordable price and was the perfect fit to squeeze a desk into a small bedroom. I always prefer real wood in furniture since my father was a woodworker. This desk is a nice blend of real wood with some laminate features to keep the cost low. It looks excellent and seems reasonably durable. Assembly was very easy. As indicated by others the keyboard tray is just big enough to hold a keyboard. There is not enough room to operate a mouse inside the tray. It has become more of a keyboard and mouse storage tray when not in use. Also, being 6' 2" my legs did not fit comfortably underneath the desk which is not uncommon. As I did with another desk in the house, I purchased some round rubber feet to raise the desk an extra inch which helped. ... show more

Frankly, I ordered this desk because it fit my budget and size/space needs. Because of the reasonable price, I was prepared for it to be of mediocre quality. Was I wrong! This is a beautiful and sturdy piece, which I would have expected to have a higher price in a furniture store. It was easy to assemble, as well. It is much heavier than I expected, which is a good thing. Although, I assembled it by myself, I did need someone to help me lift and turn it over to place it when I was finished. If I was 30 years younger, it might not have been an issue. Regardless, I would recommend having someone around, in case you need any help with lifting the whole. The table is super sturdy, the surface is very high quality and the desk can go very low or very high. There is so much space to use! I am using the table with 3x 32" monitors and still there is plenty of room. The porthole covers are made of metal and are very high quality as well. If you're thinking about it, PULL THE TRIGGER!
