This panel was to replace a plastic one. It is a great product. Easy to install, looks and works very well.

The key point is that the door on the access panel is removable. The allows the access panel to be used in areas that might be space constrained instead of using plastic panels. And of course this look much better than a plastic panel. The fit and the finish seem very good.

This door is very attractive - far more attractive that plastic alternatives. While expensive compared to alternatives, for areas where appearance matters, it is worth it. It installs easily between typical (14-1/2") framing members. We installed in a finished lower level ceiling to hide gas shutoff valves. Installation cutout used was precisely 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", which worked perfectly for sheet-rock installation. Finally, we caulked the fine seam between the frame and the ceiling, for a very seamless appearance. ... show more

This is a sturdy access door that fits between two standard spaced (16 inch) wall studs. I use these to access problematic plumbing. These are superior to the plastic ones offered by the big box stores.
