  • Handy!
This thing is so handy for charging devices during power outages, or on long road trips. The charge holds a long time for my needs. I've generally used it for phone, laptop, and a heatable lunch box. Very reliable. It doesn't make noise.

  • *Updated* Best Budget Portable Power Station!!!
*8/13/2021 Update* Still 5 stars! Power station is still working great! I reached out to Progeny as my only complaint with it was the PWM solar charge controller. They have since updated to a MPPT and were nice enough to send me out the new version. (Again I have been really impressed with their customer service!) The solar charging with the new MPPT is double the speed of the previous version! I will add pictures of the input wattage from my solar panel comparing the new vs. old. The input wattage is double while using the same 100 watt solar panel. *Original Review: This thing is fantastic! I use a Rockpals 60W solar panel to charge it and it works great. First off, the ability for pass through charging at this price point is crazy. You normally have to pay double this cost. It is a great feature so you can use your solar charging panels to charge the power station, while charging any devices plugged in. An excellent option if you need to run something that is AC power. (Pass through works on all outputs! Most budget power stations are DC pass-through only. If at all) Second, the Wh and mAh compared to others at this price point is way better. I tested the outputs with a multimeter and a USB tester and they are pretty much spot on. Third, the 12V DC output is regulated! I haven't seen any other budget power station with this option. Great for CPAP users and people looking to use a 12V cooler. The build quality is also great! The digital screen with input/output readings makes knowing the power draw and charging wattage very convenient. Especially when charging with solar. PS. The customer service is excellent too. I broke the handle on mine (the "screws" that hold the handle on are not screws... they are pins with a snap ring on the end. I tried to tighten it and the snap ring fell off inside the unit.) They sent me out a replacement immediately! Excellent product and a company that stands behind their products! Will buy from them again! ... show more

  • 3-4 of these would be good in a winter power outage
Portable, good power source for small devices! Here's what I've seen in tests for anyone prepping for disasters and power outages: -20+ hours running a large air purifier on setting 2 out of 4 -8 hours running a small heating pad on low setting used only 20% of battery - can be a good heating source during a winter power outage -6.5 hours using a small electric throw blanket on low only used 20% of battery *Will update soon after testing a warming, insulated winter cat house, a warming mat for cats, and charging it up with a 100W solar panel.* 3-4 of these batteries can be a good strategy for winter power outage prepping in areas with unreliable grids. I live in an apartment and like the idea of using these rather than 1 big expensive battery. With these you could power very efficient heating sources like the ones listed above, in addition to phones. Under that setup I would cook with a homemade tea light stove (this can be done, look it up!) so no battery usage for cooking needed. The reason I like using 3-4 of these for apartment disaster prepping as opposed to 1 big expensive battery is that during a power outage, if I need to recharge with a solar panel on my apartment grounds or parking lot, I can do so with minimal $$ loss if it all gets stolen. I can't set an Ecoflow River 2 Pro with a 200W solar panel in a parking lot unattended for hours and feel good about that. So the idea is to have 3-4 of these and keep at least one charging on the solar panel in the parking lot during all daylight hours and keep fingers crossed it doesn't get stolen. And if it does, the $$ loss won't be the end of the world like it will if an Ecoflow got stolen. I also like that they are affordable enough that if I needed to loan one to a neighbor during a winter power outage and maybe invest in a 60W cheap solar panel to loan out also, I could do that for unprepared neighbors in need - cannot do that with one very large battery I am relying on myself. Thumbs up for this battery! Does what it says and gives reliable power for small devices. ... show more

  • So far, so good.
The power bank has a wireless charging station on the top of the unit. If you want the wireless charging function to work, it is necessary to turn on the power switch and then push on the "USB" button switch. This instruction is hidden in a far corner of the manual. Also, when I first got the device, I accidently pushed the Light button and the bright light was so bright I couldn't locate the Light button to turn it off. I am not kidding, it is bright. Before you do anything, take note of the location of the Light button. This Progeny does not deplete as fast as a Bluetti EB3A with a higher Wh rating which I own. I have started to use this for charging small devices instead of the Bluetti just because I do not need to recharge it as often. I like Bluetti but my EB3A is a slight disappointment. The Progeny is half the size and easier to move from place to place and seems to hold the charge longer. One reviewer has quite a list of features which the Progeny should have if it were ideal. I liked them all and I don't think those feather wouldn't have been so hard to include. Another thing I would like to see on any Chinese made device and that is to make the various feature buttons to be made in a contrasting color. Also, I am not a fan of labeling buttons with symbols rather than using words. Also, the symbols or words are often not very large or of a obviously contrasting color...as they should be. Finally, if you are new owner of this device, one of the first things you should do is to label the charging device/cord with a label to indicate what it is for. This simple task will make your life so much better. ... show more
