  • Solid
Nice design features for leveraging the canvas

  • It’s not usable. It’s junk.
The jaws don’t even close together, this thing is so wonky it’s unusable. Buyer beware this is a piece of junk, do not purchase!

  • High-Quality and Cost-Effective Solution!
I ordered these professional canvas stretcher pliers to fix two expensive canvas prints that weren't properly stretched when framed, and they turned out to be an excellent investment. Instead of paying to ship the prints back to the company, these pliers provided a much more cost-effective solution. The pliers are extremely high-quality and heavy-duty, built to handle the job with ease. They feel sturdy in hand (almost too heavy) and are designed to grip the canvas securely for precise stretching. I’m confident they’ll work perfectly for my needs. The added bonus is that I can now save money in the future by ordering unframed canvas prints, build the frames myself and stretch and staple my own prints. These pliers are a must-have for anyone who works with canvas—highly recommended! ... show more

  • When good design meets no quality controls
The media could not be loaded. I’ve had this tool for a while don’t remember when I purchased it. However I had a bunch of canvases to mount for a showing. Bam the handle snapped. Bad casting by the look of the break. most likely trying to take shortcuts on material or quality inspections. I liked the heavyweight of the tool and the gripping aspect is good. Too bad it didn’t last. ... show more

  • Might as well be made of Plastic
It broke on the first use. I bought because it looked like solid steel, but it is some type of other metal. The handle snapped right off the very first time I used it.

  • SImple tool, worked well
I used this to stretch a canvas photograph over a wooden frame I built. This worked well to pull the canvas tight. The tool is sturdy, but simple. Two pieces of rough cast steel hinged together like scissors. I would prefer if there was a spring mechanism that would automatically open the jaws. As it is, you have to manually open the jaws, which can be inconvenient if you are also trying to pull the canvas with you hand to pull tight. It works, but you just have to get your technique down. Price is pretty good. I would recommend this, but there are probably higher cost options out there that might work a little better. ... show more

  • Grippers broke after 3rd use.
Grippers broke right by the pivot point. Clearly a bad forging job. Can not recommend.
