Worked well to keep the salad cold. Made it easier to manage than having to stand around babysitting it. I can imagine other uses. I didnโ€™t like the gap for the salad forkโ€ฆ summertime and people being careless about properly closing it. I do think there was an option without the salad fork attachment though. I can see using this for years to come. Holds about a bag and half of salad. Adding ice at the bottom did keep items cool for the salad. Would recommend. ... show more

    • Spacious & Sturdy-Looking Clear Acrylic Salad Bowl with Servers!

Last November, shortly before Thanksgiving (November 21, to be exact), I was looking for a salad bowl, because even though I've got salad bowls (or at least bowls that I use for salad) they didn't seem to be very deep enough to hold a family-sized amount of salad, especially with enough room to safely toss all the ingredients, lettuces/spring mix, tomatoes, cucumbers & other veggies, and if/when applicable, meats, cheeses & other toppings without it possibly spilling out of the bowl. So especially with the Thanksgiving being a few days away, I wanted to get a bigger salad bowl to have in time for the holiday meal. Ideally, I'd have preferred a wooden salad bowl (and I still may get one at some point in the future) but because at that time, the only wooden salad bowls available for sale, even those with Prime Shipping would not arrive until after the Thanksgiving holiday, I decided to get this Prodyne Acrylic Salad Bowl with Servers which WOULD arrive in time for Thanksgiving -- actually, even BEFORE the holiday. When this salad bowl & servers arrived, it was packed well enough that it wasn't broken or chipped. It is a very deep (in fact, a little deeper than I'd wanted) spacious salad bowl. It seems to be very sturdy, though in all honesty, I've not tested out whether it would break or chip if I dropped or threw it to the ground. Its a clear/see through bowl so when making layered salads you can see all the ingredients. This Prodyne Acrylic Salad Bowl also comes with a matching serving fork & spoon set, to serve salads. All in all, this is a GREAT salad bowl. The only quibble(s) I really have (and the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 -- though if it were possible, I'd have only deducted half of a star for that quibble. But Amazon doesn't offer half-stars as an option) are that I wish the servers were attached to each other (like tongs) and that the bowl was a *little* less deep and slightly wider instead.
