I don’t fold it up though don’t know how that really works but I leave it open and then fold it in half and put it in the back of my van. It’s so springy that You won’t have a problem with that. I’ve been looking for an umbrella dash-protection for over a month. So many choices and all fall short. I finally found this one that had all the features I was looking for. Great price, well built and *exactly what I wanted. I purchased 2 (one for each car) and amazed how easy it was to find the right fit. I have had a few different styles of windshield sunshades over the years but never this twist-fold style. I only knew the "twist-fold" trick because I have had some pool floats with this same design. Unfolding it is the easy part (be careful not to let it "pop-open" too fast and smack you in the face). It does unfold firmly and fit well around the windshield perimeter and doesn't let any light through. Folding it back up for storage is a little tricky. Even after you learn the "twist-fold" trick, it is a bit of a chore to fold. I do appreciate that it comes with a circular storage bag, otherwise there would be nothing to keep it from un-twisting and becoming unruly to store. I fully expect that at some point with repeated use the support wire will rip through the thin fabric (rendering it useless) but 4 stars for now.

I like these fold up wire rimmed type sunshades. They hold their shape nice, and are easy to twist up and store under the seat. This one fits very nice and folds up nice and small to either stick it under my seat or slide it in between the seat and center console. Plus it has a velcro strap on the top if you want to put it around the rear view mirror. Its been my experience these type of shades last for years, and I see no reason why this one won't.

Does not fit a 2015 Buick Enclave. Also if you need one for a 2015 Buick Enclave I would suggest one where the handle bends.
