Definitely perfect for beginners. We love the case and the paddles are good enough to get a grip on. I started on a Friday paddle and couldn't afford that for just trying out so I got this set for my husband and I, and though it isn't as good quality as Friday, it is nice. Get this set as a starter!

This paddle is beautiful. It's light but hits solidly. I feel like I'm hitting better than with my Joola which broke. I did prefer the Joola's grip though.
