Description

Rest easy with Res Care Liquid Water Softener Cleaner. It cleans what salt leaves behind and is easy to use. First Application Instructions: Use 1/2 cup (4 ounces) of Res Care per cubic foot of softener resin. Most residential softeners contain approximately 1 cubic foot of resin; if unsure, check your manual. Pour the cleaner directly into the brine well. If there’s no brine well, pour directly into the salt tank when salt is low. Manually regenerate the softener. If taste or odor is detected in tap water, manually regenerate softener, then run cold water until the odor is gone. Regular Maintenance Instructions: Add 1/2 cup (4 ounces) per cubic foot of resin at each regeneration.

The Res Care water softener resin treatment 4 pack arrived quickly and was well packaged. I used it as directed and it seems to have improved water softening on my Fleck 5000 series unit.

My water softener is outside in a shed. It gets hot, very hot, and the brine tank frequently gets a layer of dirt in it requiring flushing. Even so, after 8 years (and a failed head) the resin is still going strong.

BUYER BEWARE- RUINED A PERFECTLY GOOD 1 1/2 YEAR OLD SOFTENER IN NEW HOUSE This product ruined our 1 1/2 year old water softener. I used the product as described & only as precautionary maintenance as I I thought it be a good idea since we do have some iron in our well water here in Florida. The water (BEFORE USING THEIR PRODUCT) coming out of our faucets was ALWAYS CLEAR. After using the product our water has turned brown to the point we had to bypass the softener. I messaged the company & the person that got back immediately started blaming our water softener which again is only 1 1/2 years old. I told them I had clear water before using their product & now no matter how long I run the water its brown. They then recommended I run the water for another hour to see if it clears up, it didn't. Then they said to run another does of the product to see if that corrects the problem. After 3 doses of their product over a 2 weeks we still have brown water if the softener is used.
