  • Blends like butter
Style: Cool Grey
I love these pens. There are so many shades and they’re super easy to blend as long as you work quickly. They also don’t bleed a lot which is nice

I sent these to my granddaughter who is a budding artist. She loved them. I don't always hear about how well she likes things, but these got a big thumbs up. Prismacolor is a quality brand and they didn't disappoint.

  • Brushless Starter Manga Marker Set
Style: Manga
These markers are a "professional" quality set at a low price, which is really the biggest selling point of this set. However, beware of the use of "Manga" as part of the label. These are not brush tip and although this is a nice set of markers, it can not possibly cover everything you can believe to be "Manga" with just 12 colors. Now, to be fair the product description reads: "Double-ended markers with both broad and fine nibs". These are obviously not brush tip markers. However, for some reason, when I read "Manga" as part of the label, I thought they were brush tip markers. Even then, I thought it was a good set of colored markers for a good prices, so I decided to keep them anyway. As the description of this product mentions, "Manga" refers to the range of colors available in this set. However, how much of a range do you have with only 12 markers? You have your three primary and three secondary: PM1 Process Red, PM 17 Sunburst Yellow, PM39 True Blue, PM14 Pale Vermillion, PM167 Apple Green, and PM171 Lilac. You have three more for flesh tones: PM72 Eggshell, PM70 Brick Beige, and PM208 Ballet Pink. One for shadows: PM156 French Gray 20%. And two for backgrounds: PM95 Sienna Brown, and PM144 Cloud Blue. Of course, you can get really be creative with this set of colors and use them however you want. For example: Use Brown, Vermillion and Yellow for flesh tones, or Cloud Blue for eye color. These markers are very good for layering and if you are able to blend them then you range of colors will go up quite a bit, but that would mean you are already good at using markers. I think this is an OK starter set of markers for artist who has some experience with markers. I wouldn't advertise them for beginners, but it would be the next step to go if you already dabble with cheaper markers. ... show more

  • Perfect for drawing Ghibli characters.
Style: Manga
If you're like me, and you a little bit Ghibli obsessed, you need these. These markers are amazing! They blend, the colors are aerate, and they don't bleed through the page in my experience. My only reccomendation is that you pay extra attention to how the markers close. You need to make sure they snap shut, otherwise the cap won't actually seal and will pop off and or dry out the marker. ... show more

  • What core is the base made from i.e. wax, oil, lead etc...
Style: Hyper Brights
I am a Massachusetts based freelance custom artist that does both pro Bono and paid assignments for 12 years and myself and a fellow artist decided to test these pencils on art assignments. We loved the ease of the brightness without need to apply pressure or extra layers of color to our work however for my fryeho is more of a beginner and less professional in his training would have liked to know if his pencils as they were a gift for his art medium collection were erasable as there are some that do. It still doesn't get better than Prismacolor and as a professional I just recommend testing on scrap paper the pencil for color shade and things like erasable features. Happy drawing to all the artists out there! These are great for all levels of drawing and ages fro pro to beginner or toddlers to adults in their studios!! The photo is of an assignment that uses the pencils incorporated with the Prismacolor alcohol based dual tip markers ... show more
