Description
If your printer has streaky or discoloured printouts which cannot be fixed with the printer's own cleaning cycle this kit allows you to clean the head manually by injecting fluid through the head. The fluid dissolves dried ink and purges air from the head and can also be used to revive the capping station sponge. This kits have been developed since 2008 to be fast, effective and safe. Based in the UK, we design and manufacture the kits be easy to use and compatible with as many printer models as possible; the Expression Premium (XP) and Ecotank models being the latest additions. The kits contain everything you need, including reusable latex-free nitrile gloves. The fluid is universal between kits so can be used on different printer makes by following our tutorial clips Expression Premium (XP) printers need a specific kit (see chart below). Disclaimer Printer cleaning requires a supply of fresh ink and carries a small risk of damage to the printer. As such, we recommend using cleaning when other methods (such as the inbuilt cleaning function) have already been tried, and when the printer has no functional use unless fixed. A phenom kit. I have 2 Active Epson Printers ( WF1100 & R1900 ) that I recently observed a decline in print quality and 4 inactive printers ( C88+, R200, R260 and Photo 1280 ) which have been sitting between 2yrs and 5yrs+ which would not print at all. With minimal effort, I was able to clean them all and they all print like new. Heating the solution as described in the instructions was unnecessary. Only the C88+ required an overnight soak ( Black Ink ). This kit comes with a couple sheets of blotter paper. Cut the paper to fit into your printers carriage area ( see instructions ). If you run out of blotter paper you can use good quality lint-free paper towels to absorb the cleaning fluid. While you are cleaning the print head you should take the time to clean the part that cleans the print head inside the printer. Ink can build up there and cause a poor seal so cartridges won't charge properly due to air in the nozzles. Don't use cotton swaps ( Q-Tip Brand for example ) these can shed and leave lint or fuzz and that can block your print head. I was shocked that the printers that were sitting for about 5yrs would ever work again but this kit did it. I do keep the cartridges in the units and cover them when not in use or in storage so that may have helped. I also noticed that my Workforce 1100 seems to using less ink overall. EPSON Printer TIPS: 1) I always use EPSON cartridges no off-brand. This may or may not matter depending on the print job. 2) Leave print cartridges in printer during long periods of non-use or if you store the printer for some reason. 3) Cover printer with a cheap bed sheet or some type of dust cover to prevent dirt, dust etc. from invading, especially the sheet feeder areas. 4) Do at least a nozzle check every day OR print a printer test pattern sheet to keep ink flowing and to prevent print head build up and blockage. For daily cleans I use "Normal" print quality but every week or two I'll use the "Photo" setting and disable "High Speed" and "Edge Smoothing" options. This prints slower and lays down more ink. 5) Don't use cheap copy paper or dirty ( dusty ) paper. Some of these cheap papers have a gritty feel and can clog your print head. And, of course, don't use dusty or dirty paper. Glossy paper can be wiped off if need be with a lint free cloth with some success but I strongly suggest keeping paper in a dust-free place. Keep paper in package or resealable sleeve and in a closet or file cabinet if possible. 6) Shake new cartridges well prior to installation to ensure no settling has occurred. Black ink is more likely to contain particles which can settle at the bottom of the cartridge. FOLLOW THE INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS OR VIEW THE VIDEOS ON THE WEBSITE. This stuff works perfectly. My printer is working 100% again, just like new. And I'm even using knockoff ink from GPC that I bought for ~$20 from Amazon vs the $80+ HP wants me to pay. Plus the GPC ink gives you 2X the cartridges so twice the fun (altho I've read it doesn't last as long as promised - who cares). I went through 5 syringes of Hospital fluid to clean my print head. Why? Because I have not used my printer in 3 years and it was filthy. The ink does not stick to a stainless steel sink so clean up was super easy. I watched a youtube video regarding cleaning the HP Photosmart 7520 printer by "Best Printers" and he recommended using Isopropyl 91% alcohol spray, which I also bought from Amazon. This 2nd product really helped the cleaning process. It is cheap and virtually required. This product has a great website printheadhospital dot com where you can watch videos on how to use the product. IE you want to put the syringe of Hospital fluid in hot water for 1 minute to activate the ingredients to their full cleaning potential. Warning: wear eye glasses because if one of your heads is full of dried ink, then fluid will shoot backwards and into your face. That happened to me and thankfully I was wearing readers. Buy from Amazon as it has same pricing but S&H is free.

Unfortunately, this didn't work for my Canon ix6820 printer. I have a damaged printhead. I've used ix6520 over the last 10 years and previously purchased the Canon printhead prototypes attachments when they were made from a metal of some kind back in 2012 from printhead hospital, emailed them directly actually. I no longer have them (as I switched to a laser printer temporarily). Purchased these off Amazon from the same seller, but sadly what was a quick easy fix on my ix6520, was nothing but on my ix6820. Certainly not the fault of this product, it's amazing. My printer of a year just is a pain and after only 1 print, will not print the light colors in the CYMK spectrum. And will only print standard in all colors, and nothing in high. But I've had great success with this product in the past.

Works fine on Brother printer's, though it took a few cleanings to get right. On My Epson it did not work so well, I got it to clean the printhead. Seems they are sayig that there is some type barriers in Epson Artsian printer,s that prevent them fom accepting outside cleaning devices.

(I'M INCLUDING A PICTURE OF THE TYPE OF PRINTER I HAVE TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SAME PRINTER - This picture is from Canon's actual product website.) Hello there! I have a Canon TS9020 printer and it's an okay little printer, however, when I was rearranging my room... I unplugged my printer and it was unplugged for a while. Printer companies make it so if your printer is not on constantly connected to power.... Your ink will end up drying up and you won't be able to print properly. In most cases.... You'll either have to swap out a whole print head (and some printer manufacturers make it 100% impossible to swap out print heads by making them built into the printer.....) or throw the printer away and get a new one.... BUT WHY???? My printer is perfectly fine except for the fact that it won't print right!!!! When used correctly.... This product truly does work!!! The key is to make sure that it's warm enough to really get the printer head unclogged. Luke warm works but I make mine really warm (not scalding hot, but I imagine if you know what you are doing and are not a complete idiot you'd be able to get even better results with the temperature being hot rather than warm. But if you are not experienced... Don't use hot solution only stick to solution that is warm to the touch!!!) I personally do not use the blotting papers.... I use paper towels. IF you're going to use paper towels.... Please use the good kind like Bounty or Viva as you don't want the paper towels ripping and leaving anything inside the printer.... Plus they retain more water! (I learned the hard way, learn from my mistake!) I absolutely cannot recommend this product enough!!!!!! I'm running out soon... Gonna be buying more..... So far I've cleaned my printer head 4 times.... Works great as a print head tune up (but uses a lot of ink to do the tune up so be careful.)

I was negligent and did not use or maintain my Epson SureColor P600 for almost 2 years. The print head was extremely clogged (vivid magenta and matte black was not printing at all) and after multiple head cleanings in the printer settings and attempts to make my own solution out of distilled water and windex with no success I decided to try this printhead cleaner. My printer's cartridges are NOT attached to the printhead so the instructions included in this kit DO NOT APPLY. If you have the same printer as me DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN WITH THIS KIT. Instead, I followed another set of instructions I found elsewhere on the internet where I soaked a strip of the blotter paper in the solution and slid it under my printhead carriage and allowed it to sit overnight before replacing the blotter paper with a fresh strip soaked with solution and scrubbed the printhead across it. I ran another printhead cleaning through my printer's setting and everything was back as new. I hope this helps someone else in a similar situation as I was since it was very hard for me to find any information on how to fix a clogged printhead for my particular printer where I can't just force some solution through my print head since the ink is supplied to the nozzle via tubes. The home made solution isn't enough to dissolve the pigment ink so I think you do need a specific cleaning solution for it to work and this product is a great price for the amount you get. I used less than 20 mL to fix my printer so getting 17oz may have been overkill but I am now ready if it happens again.

Did not work for me. I followed the instructions to the letter, heated the solution, did it a couple of times, and waited for an hour or longer each time. Still the print head was clogged. I should have gone with my first instinct and just replaced the printer as it's an Epson and after a while they just fail. I think that the product was oversold and hyped, and might work well for a cleaning product, but not an emergency cleaning/repair kit as advertised. If you're not buying for routine cleaning, skip this and just buy a new printer. Printers are cheap, and the cost of this with shipping is about a third of the price of a new Epson WF that I now still have to buy. I am not a technophobe and do know how to perform many tasks, so I followed the instructions to the letter. Alas, no changes in the printer, and it actually made the situation worse, such that I had to immediately replace remaining cartridges, but still had the same issues. Complete failure occurred after the second test, and that was the last of the ink for the current Epson WF that I have, so I'm not buying more ink or messing with this product again. Now, I have to figure out if this will work to clean my other printers, or if I have to dispose of it in a special manner. Not satisfied. In short, just buy a new printer, not this cleaner as it does not deliver.

We have 2 Brother All-in-One inkjet printers that we don't use nearly as often as we used to. As a result, the inkjet print heads dry out and even after using the built-in cleaning cycle MANY times, print quality was horrible. Rather than replace the printers, I decided to give this Printer Head Cleaning kit a try (its certainly cheaper than buying a new printer!). The kit provides everything you need to perform a print head cleaning. The process is a bit messy but very manageable; just follow the included instructions. My biggest fear was having ink leak out of the printer's ink cartridges. The included instructions (and there's a YouTube video too) are very clear and easy to follow. I had 2 minor difficulties using this kit; 1) Attaching the rubber tubing to the syringe and 2) Reaching in and attaching the tubing to the printer's ink cartridge ports (I ended up using a pair of forceps for this). The rest of the process is easy-peasy. This product worked REALLY WELL! It took 2 applications to unplug the "Black" inkjets (apparently black ink contains graphite which can settle out of the liquid its suspended in). The "Color" inkjets unplugged after the first application. Now both printers work like they're brand new!
