  • This optic is worth the hype!
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
This optic is worth the hype! The ACSS reticle is fast and easy to acquire, and performs so well Trijicon uses it in the latest ACOG. I prefer this reticle to others used in competitor's AR-type optics - faster to range targets and much more user-friendly. The illuminated reticle doesn't wash out in bright light (that I've encountered yet, anyway), and the fact that it's etched on the lens means that even if it does, or the battery dies, you can continue to engage. The Gen III offers several improvements over the Gen II, and this optic is worth every penny and more - you won't find another optic of this caliber in this price range. The glass is clear, no tinting that I can tell, and the overall quality rivals, and in most cases bests, other optics costing much more. Not all sunshine and roses though. The focus ring seems a little loose for what should be a set-and-forget aspect (once it's set to your vision, why change it?), and the rear cap fits on the focus ring - so any bump or shift can throw your reticle slightly out of focus. The easy fix is to take the cap off, focus the reticle, then reinstall the cap vertically so returning it to proper focus is as easy as realigning the cap. The "snap" and grip when closing the caps is a little weak also - any little nudge pops them open. This can be a good thing under pressure, but a minor annoyance while carrying. The caps do fit firmly on the housing though, so no complaints there. All in all, my issues with the optic are minimal and minor - nothing that actually affects the performance of the optic. It rides well on my 3-gun rifle and I wouldn't trade it for a competitor's optic for twice the price. ... show more

  • Primary Arms LVPO 1-6x24 optic w/22LR retical
Excellent build quality, nice finish. glass is very clear and retical is easy to see. windage and elevation knobs are low profile and work well. magnification ring is a little stiff but smooth. The luminated retical is very bright and works well even in bright sunlight. Overall, a excellent optic for this price point.. ... show more

  • Great Optic
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308 with 30mm mount
Great optic at a great price! Used this one on an M1A and has held zero! I recommend this optic. Only one disappointment. I didn't receive my Skittles with this.

  • Great Scope, Awesome Price!!
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
So far I really like this scope. I haven’t tested it past 100 yds yet but hope to soon. I love the Gen 3 ACSS reticle, the chevron point makes precise shots easy and the very open sight picture makes getting back on target for follow up shots quick. I do wish they offered it in a green reticle as well as the red. My eyes tend to pick up green better and cleaner. The glass is pretty clear with just a little distortion around the very edge, nothing abnormal for a scope in this range and won’t affect anything. The magnification at 1x is actually a little less than 1x, with my off eye open what I see in the scope eye is slightly smaller, but that isn’t much of an issue to me. Sighting in was quick and with my 5.56 AR I was able to get 1-2 MOA groupings at 100 yds just shooting off a backpack on the table top. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a budget scope for their AR. ... show more

  • So far, so good
Good optics, good eye relief and easy to adjust. The illumination dial took some getting used to and the off switch should be between each illumination setting but the optics make up for that

  • Outstanding optic
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
Currently mounted on my .308, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Low power setting works very nearly like a red dot. Included windage calculator and BDC makes it very easy and accurate at distance as well.

  • Great scope
I already had a decent scope on my .22lr however I really am a huge fan of these ACSS reticles so I just had to have it. I was between the 6x and this one and ultimately decided on this one for a few reasons. 1. It has a light up reticle which will come in hand with shooting at dark targets, in darker areas such as the woods, or shooting dark colored animals such as racoon, some squirrels, and some other varmints in our area. 2. The variable zoom just makes the scope more versatile (even though 9/10 times I will keep it at 6x) 3. The reviews of how solid the scope is and the fact it was build on their .308 AR scope platform, I knew it would hold up to the elements and abuse 4. The lifetime warranty. The 6x just has a 2 year, this one has a lifetime! The sight picture is very clear which is my favorite thing about PA optics. They (for the price) have fantastic glass in them, crystal clear reticles, and nice finishes. My only drawback to this scope is that it doesn't have a larger objective lens like the 6x, which would help bring additional light into the scope, but the benefits far outweigh that one drawback. I have 2 recommendations/wishes for this scope. 1. I wish PA would specifically tell you the recommended bullet to use (36gr, 40gr, velocity??) At 175 or 200 yards, there is going to be quite a differnce in drop between the different .22lr rounds out there, so I wish we had some guidelines to follow for sighting in. 2. I hope they come out with a .17 caliber version for both HMR and WSM. I would buy that scope as well in a heartbeat. ... show more

  • Clear glass and easy to use
I have this scope mounted on my Ruger10-22®Competition Model Number 31147 with the Vortex Optics Hunter 30mm Riflescope Rings - Low Height (0.75 in). The combination works great! Pros: * The scope is pretty light. * The glass quality is clear. * It has a diopter ring (+3 to -3). * 1-6 magnification is adequate for a .22 LR. * The chevron is great for plinking! It makes it very easy to quickly acquire targets at different distances and it is a ton of fun! Cons: * I don't know what ammunition/rifle they used to determine the bullet drop compensation (BDC), but it does not work properly with any ammunition that I have used so far (CCI mini-mag 40gr, Federal automatch 40gr and Aguila 38gr HP). I zeroed at 50 yards. It is not a big deal since the variation is not that much, but it is not perfect when shooting 100 yards and plus. I have to compensate the compensation! Yes, I have been using maximum magnification (6x) to "properly" use the BDC, since this is a Second Focal Plane (SFP) scope. * The BDC only goes to 200 yards, but it would be nice if it went to 300 yards, despite of the huge bullet drop. ... show more
