I love this thing. Since buying it I have been able to hang so many pieces of art on my walls. I especially like it for my collage wall of pictures. The laser allowed me to ensure I was getting all the pictures on the same line. The 45 degree level function allows you easily check the corners to check your accuracy. I really like the idea of this being a multi-purpose tool. I was hanging a gallery wrap canvas last weekend and keeping having to switch between a measuring tape and a level while on a step stool -- never mind the tools needed to hang the drywall anchors and screws. There are 2 levels -- one on the horizontal side and one in the middle for the vertical. The vertical works pretty well but the one on the horizontal side does have a bubble that does not expand the width of the marks so you are having to eyeball where the bubble is and whether it is truly in the middle of the 2 marks. The measuring tape works fine -- pulls out and retracts smoothly. However, it is not the strongest so don't expect it to extend more than around 3 feet without it collapsing under its own weight. There is a laser level -- however, in order to insert the batteries use that feature, you have to use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment... Oh, but not just ANY screw driver -- you have to use a pentalobe screwdriver. I don't have one of those in the size required so I can't insert the batteries so therefore -- that feature is wasted. The build quality is cheap -- if you dropped this on a wood or tile floor, I have no doubt that it would just crack and break. Again, great concept... very poor design and execution. I have always had a Swiss army knife. I like the variety of tools that this sort of thing affords. This is a similar concept but with measuring and marking. It is a nice idea but could use a more refined execution. All of the features are there, tape measure, laser line/dot and level. It is packaged in a kind of traditional torpedo level form. All of the features function as promised, it is just that the form can sometimes be awkward. The level is easy enough and can be laid on a surface. There is even a way to measure right angled corners and a rotatable level that you can set for a specific angle. I have never seen this before and it can be quite useful. Yet the level lacks a magnet that is something I use all the time on other levels. The tape measure is good and has the usual locking button. The legend is clear and easily readable, it also has both metric and imperial. Yet in the form factor of a level, it can be cumbersome to use. The laser has both line and dot, although the line is not a full crosshairs. I am not able to use the level to set the level of the line as they are not in the same plane.     • It should work for the job I bought it for
I got this so I could put up a shelf in the laundry closet. I thought a laser level would make it easier to mark the wall. It was placed inside a plastic sleeve to keep it clean and packaged in a sturdy box. The instructions were basic but the information was easy to understand. The tool is all plastic except for the battery door and the measuring tape. The batteries were included. The door of the battery compartment is metal, with a screw. It wasn’t a flat head or philips head screw. It was star-shaped, a torx screw. I looked through the box, but no torx screwdriver was included. I dug around in my hobby tool box and found that a T-8 30mm worked for me. It wasn’t quite big enough but it did the job. I got the batteries installed and tried out the laser. It made a red spot on the wall. I flipped the bar near the light lens and it became a red line. I placed the level on the counter, standing on end, and discovered that my counter isn’t quite level. I put it on it’s side to check the level of the floor and it wasn’t so easy to tell. It was hard to make the bubble stay evenly between the lines. The measuring tape is good if you want to measure something flat. I don’t see it being able to measure from ceiling to floor. It’s not very thick and would bend.     • This is compact and easy to use.
The quality of this isn't the best. I do like that it is battery operated. The laser line takes a few seconds to come on but the brightness is good when it does. I think if you dropped this by mistake it would break easily. All in all it performs as described and does a good job for the low cost.

This tool is certainly cool. It's a fun extra to have in a toolbox or around the house. The laser level is very nice for hanging things, but it could be brighter and longer. The battery compartment uses a star bit, which I have a driver for but isn't as common. It might not be something you have around and it's worth knowing about. The plastic is light weight and could be a bit more sturdy. Overall I'm happy I have it and will be using it to hand pictures in the future. It would be a fun Christmas gift. ... show more

    • What a dissappointment!
I was so excited to receive this 4 in 1 laser level but when I went to use it I found that the laser was defective and at one end the laser was so dim it was impossible to see and at the other end it was thick. As soon as you stretched the beam out to more than 16 to 18" the thin end disappeared even in darkness. What a waste! ... show more

The meter tape in this 4 in one tools is not good quality, it doesn’t hold its form if tried to measure something above you. The material for tape is thinner than usual tapes and it doesn’t help in staying at its position. The laser is clear and comes with battery needed for it. The level is fine as well. ... show more
