  • Awesome sim card for Italy and Switzerland
Model: 12GB
Great sim card that worked well almost everywhere I visitied in Switzerland and Italy. I used the sim card for a 2 week trip including locations in: munich, Zurich, les diablerets, interlaken area (murren, gimmelwald, grindelwald, etc.), milan, venice, florence, cinque terre, rome, naples, and palermo. Almost everywhere had constant 4G besides when going in tunnels in trains and some spotty service in cique terre areas. There was even 5G in switzerland. I used about 8 Gbs for 2 weeks with constant usage (emails, games, google, maps, apps) but no streaming videos. Easy set up - just put it in and make sure data roaming is on and your phone is unlocked. I tended to restart my phone whenever I entered a new country which I've been told can help signal quality. You get a phone number and can call/send and recieve texts which was useful for booking restuarant reservations. Great value and probably good for a 3 week trip anywhere it works in EU. ... show more

  • Buy an eSIM and buy direct.
Model: 30GB
Do not buy. Buy an eSIM directly from orange or probably a more reputable carrier. The SIM card has not worked for data throughout my trip and orange customer service is nonexistent. Phone works fine but if you need any apps like maps or airline or car or any other travel, forget about it.

  • Terrific! But follow the directions!
Model: 100GB
I purchased the 100GB 28 day SIM a few months before my three week trip (which meant that the little SIM poker was shaped like the Eiffel Tower. Cool.). Coverage worked great in Northern Sardinia, the Milan area, and Frankfort, switching from network to network as needed. My coverage for talk, text, and data were nearly flawless. Internet rarely lagged. Following the directions—follow the directions one by one. Really—I exchanged SIMs when I got to my final destination: Northern Sardinia. I got excited and did not do the last step, and going back through the perfectly clear directions, found my mistake. Sardinia is a difficult place to rely on a single provider, and WiFi can be sketchy. Internet gigs provided by TIM are incredibly expensive. I had no difficulty anywhere I used this card, and it allowed me to stay off public WiFi that is so vulnerable to hackers. I used everything constantly: local phone calls and few back to the US; FaceTime locally and to the US and France; search, maps, travel apps, Libby library app, and as a personal hotspot for my laptop and for others. All worked well, with one exception—in a tunnel. I did not stream a whole lot, and after three solid weeks, 34 GB remain. While I could have purchased fewer GB, this was the best $64 I’ve spent in my years of travel primarily to mainland Italy and Sardinia. I could rely on staying connected and up to date. Downside: occasionally my searches turned up in French or Italian. That was it. ... show more

  • It worked great and easy to start up and register
Model: 12GB
We bought this in Jan. & used it in Feb. for 2 weeks in Europe (Sicily, Malta & Germany) and it worked great. It connected within seconds of the phone being turned on. While I took instructions to handle potential issues based on online reviews (called the phone provider before leaving to ensure my device is not locked; remember to turn on Roaming; & how to check APN settings). I registered the account after my return to North America & it said I'd get a text within 5 days, but I wasn't in Europe so the sim wouldn't be working for me to get the text. I sent a message via support.travel.orange.com/hc (I think I got there from the faq page) and got an email reply in English within the hour. I was even able to reply to the email to ask a follow-up question. In hindsight it would have been easier to register the account while in Europe but it got done. I've now opened an online account (after the registration) to be able to process top-ups to keep the account active. That process went smoothly but I did have to wait until the account was registered to do this step and I did have to confirm my email with a code sent to it. I checked on the online account and it looks like I have the option to purchase the same 12 GB of data & 200 SMS for $21 at this time (will probably fluctuate with exchange rates I assume). Overall I was very happy with both the purchase with Amazon and with the Orange Sim and even their customer service. ... show more

  • It worked.
Model: 12GB
It was nice to have the sim card before I traveled to Italy. It worked well in almost all areas I visited but I had to use a restaurant's wifi a couple of times, as the service wasn't working well in certain structures and areas on the outskirts. I didn't like that I was assigned a French number when my location was Italy. Maybe it's the default. When registering the sim card, I was prompted to enter less numbers than the actual numbers I was given. I reached out to customer service about the issue, and they were responsive and helpful. I'd it buy again. ... show more

  • Reliable and Easy-to-Use SIM for European Travel
Model: 12GB
Inserting the SIM into my unlocked phone was quick and effortless—worked right away without any setup hassles. I used it while traveling across four countries and multiple stops, including Amsterdam, Brussels, Stuttgart, Triberg, Zurich, Lucerne, Interlaken, and Brienz. Throughout the trip, I had consistent 4G coverage and no issues with data signal. It made me staying connected while traveling in Europe (WhatsApp chat and calling, Google map). ... show more

  • Didn't work for me. Buy them over here instead.
Model: 12GB
Did not work for me. My phone had great signal, but said "network locked" and no data was moving. I emailed orange and they did reply within 24 hours but asked for my orange order number. As soon as I said I bought it here I never heard from them again. Look, if you're reading this, I get it. You'd like to have this Sim thing settled before your trip. Me too. I spent like thirty bucks for some peace of mind. Instead I got a bunch of complication and limbo. I am writing this from France in April of 2025 and can say Sim cards are easy to find here. You literally have to walk past four places selling them to exit cdg. If your phone won't do an esim just buy one over here. Safe travels. ... show more
