When I tried this device on a tent in order to create grommets, I had problems. I tried the hole punch but it would not cut through the two layers of fabric. The punch partially cut one layer but did nothing to the second layer. I tried repeatedly and was about to give up and send the product back. But then I decided to try a different approach with the punch. Instead of just hammering it vertically, I leaned the punch about 10 degrees to one side. Then I went in a circle with the punch doing the same 10 degree lean all around. Then it worked better in cutting the fabric. I thought the metal grommet pair seem rather flimsy but they worked. The setting tool does take quite a bit of force to set the grommet but the grommet was set nicely. So all in all , I am pleased with the device and will keep the product.

I love this set I have only used the 3/8" but it cuts and grommets in one motion. I have had a car storage that the Velcro was not holding on in high wind as you can see I was able to get those areas closed with this tool and some cords. I have done this to all the corners and it has been over a month with no issues.

This is a high quality, heavy duty, multi functional grommet tool. I had an issue with a too tight screw which caused the head to strip out and get stuck but got it replaced quickly and am overall very satisfied with this product. Super easy to use, and did not need too much grip strength to successfully clamp a grommet. Had a slightly difficult time with the hole punch but had to punch through a thicker material. Great product and no complaints!

This tool with supplied Grommets Did Not increase productivity. A hand punch set keeping pace, and they are annoying if you've used them. Its a toss up whether its getting sent back. Pros & Cons +Tool arrived quickly. +Tool is German design and worthwhile. +Storage box is only adequate. -Grommets will not self puncture the hole on any durable tarp, Keep a little cutting blade on hand. -Grommets did not seat on first attempts. It was necessary to flip the tool and reseat each of the Grommets. -12mm head and seat had very little magnetism making it difficult to keep the halves in place.

First, this is a nice kit. It works as described. Three things could make this tool kit better. 1. The tool itself dose not lock when closed all the way. This makes it difficult to place back in the case. You have to close it part way so the rachet mechanism holds it closed. Go to far and it fully releases. Annoying but manageable. 2. The screws holding the anvil and press adaptors to the tools main body are JIS screw slot. Not a Phillips! If your not careful you can round the screw head and make it hard to change the anvil. You can use a straight slot screw driver, but be careful. 3. The handle on the case is solid, it doesn't collapse. This requires more space in your tool chest to store it. Also Annoying. Still, the kit seems well made, functions as described, and comes with plenty of eyelets in the durable case.
