Description

All Powerbreather are great for general snorkeling fun up to Ironman training with safe, fresh air breathing. The Powerbreather has revolutionized swimming with the symmetric snorkel that brings in fresh from both the top tubes, and exhales your CO2 from the bottom. There is no mixed CO2 air as with a any traditional snorkel. Top valves on the tube only open briefly for an inhale, otherwise staying closed and keeping water out. You can literally hold your breath, dive deep, come up and inhale, with no water entering the snorkel. You can swim in choppy, wave like conditions without ever turning your head to breathe. Saliva or any water that may have entered during a breath just drains out the bottom, no purging of water necessary. Just dry, fresh air, with every breath. With a Powerbreather, you can swim for further and easier than you ever have before. Safely, with fresh, dry air with just relaxed breathing. Recreational swimmers, triathletes, para athletes, endless pools, general snorkeling, all benefit from the Powerbreather. (Note: Not for Scuba) Can be worn with swim goggles or diving masks. A traditional front snorkel obscures your view, wobbles on flip turns, and, as with traditional side snorkels, has mixed air with CO2 which is not healthy, effects oxygen to your bloodstream, effects endurance, and can cause headaches. A Powerbreather gives a clear view, won't wobble, fits all heads, and only brings in fresh air. You can swim or snorkel long distances for any amount of time, with never having to turn your head, breathing fresh air. We believe in making swimming fun and easier for thousands of people around the world. Yes, the top triathletes in the world have discovered Powerbreather and pushed their limits of distance, technique and strength building, but it's so much more than that. It's about a recreational swimmer finding the love of swimming as one the healthiest exercises on the planet. The Powerbreather Sport model is ideal for any swimmer NOT doing flip turns, in which case you want the Lap or Wave models. (Flip caps sold separately if desired later on) What To Expect? Ease into the water on your first awakening journey to enjoying swimming at a different level. You will go through phases of awareness to your stroke as you propel yourself further than you've gone before. Your mind will shift from focusing on your breath, then back to your stroke and tweaks, becoming meditative. You find yourself playing with intervals of speed, your kick pattern and adjusting your body position while keeping your head steady. Finding yourself lost deep in thought you reach that ‘runner's high’ and keep swimming on. That's the Powerbreather. Swimming will Never be the same, there are no limits. Breathing issues: Some reviews have mentioned it difficult to breathe. Improved on in Spring of 2017 is the now standard Easy Vents making it easier to breathe. Medium (previous version) and Power vents sold separately for those who desire more breather resistance and hypoxic training. If your speed vents do not say 'Easy' on them, reach out to Powerbreather USA. Swim like a shark, breath like a runner. The patented Ameo Fresh Air System sets the Powerbreather apart. In a traditional snorkel, you inhale and exhale in the same tube; this is not healthy and can be detrimental to your workout and health. With the Powerbreather, you inhale from the top tubes, and exhale out the bottom, completely separating O2 and CO2. Fresh air every breath. The system also uses a membrane system to prevent water from getting in, making swimming in rough water or waves ideal. No need to turn your head to breathe. Enjoy endless swimming with the Powerbreather and fresh air. Pool, lake, ocean or upriver swimming. Powerbreather turns recreational swimmers into distance swimmers around the world. Safe breathing over long swimming / snorkeling times (no pendulum breathing). There is no risk of CO2 fatigue, as it's always fresh air. Fluids like water and saliva simply drain out with gravity from the bottom. The Twist Lock system comfortably adjusts from about 10 years old to an adult head size, (we've only seen issues with very wide heads). It works with almost any pair of swimming or snorkeling goggles. The Sport model only includes the short vents. Picture here are flip caps for flip turns (Lap/Wave models) and the long vents (Wave, Beach, Adventurer models). All are interchangeable. Swimmers world wide are adapting to using the Powerbreather symmetric snorkel for lap swimming and open water with fresh, dry air, to train and just enjoy distance swimming without turning your head. The Powerbreather is ideal for keeping water out while breathing fresh air. Example here shows a Seabob owner who enjoys diving deep up and down while using a Powerbreather. Full Face Mask Issues:

abunda_amazon_reviews First of all the customer service is outstanding, I briefly told the agent named Brad that I received the vents that first came with the product that are harder to breathe with, he said he would send me the new easy vent no problem. I am active duty overseas so it's not always easy dealing with customer service willing to do that for you. what I really like about the powerbreather is the ability to continuously do lap after lap without trying to get a good breathing repetition down. You just put it on and go for as long as you can stand. It's very comfortable when you get used to it you barely know it's even on your head. If you are not sure if you want to get this product rest assured you can try it out and if you don't like it I'm sure they will be no problem to send it back, so what do you have to lose? I will be a powerbreather customer for life! **UPDATE** Received the easier breathing attachment in about a week! definitely a superior snorkel
once you get used to this device, which happens very quickly, its excellent. one trick i found is to make sure you blow out after you make a turn, vs take a breath so that you make sure to clear it before you try to breath

I had some issues
I swim four days a week and use a snorkel as I have neck issues. I used the Powerbreather four times, finding it difficult to inhale during my workout. After a few days my chest became sore and I thought I might have pneumonia or another lung issue. I visited my doctor and he said my lungs were clear and I might be experiencing a muscle strain due to difficulty breathing with the powerbreather. I have not used it since but I plan to try it again soon. I think it could be beneficial once you acclimate to it. At $100 I feel I have to get some more use out of it.

Love this breather
Love this breather! If you are looking for a way to get in the pool and just hammer out some distance this is exactly what you need!. The boa like ratchet system is awesome! it tightens right to the back of your head and holds the breather in place. It feels a little funny at first but after a few laps, you almost forget you that are wearing it. One thing I was worried about was that this unit would be hard to breathe through but honestly, after swimming with it for one length of the pool I was used to it.

Perfect
I bought this to swim laps as part of my fitness regimen and have been using it for a month now and I absolutely love it. I can power through 100 laps in about 30 minutes just head down and concentrating on my stroke. Breathing is easy and the always clean inhale is a great improvement over traditional snorkels. If you are a scuba diver, this snorkel has a very 'regulator' type feel to the mouthpiece. The ratcheting knob to secure/loosen the headstrap if flawless. Outstanding quality and very stable. I'd recommend this for anyone serious about swimming laps for fitness.

Cool idea if it didn’t mess up my breathing.
I’ve used this product regularly over the summer of 2019. I went for 30-minute swims. My breathing got messed up somehow. It shortens my breath for days after. The worst happened during my triathlon. Swam for 21 minutes and had an extremely shallow breath from there on. It lasted badly for several hours after the finish. I felt a shortened breath for weeks afterwards. A month later I tried the snorkel again with similar after-effects. I haven’t used it for 2 months and my breathing is normal. But I don’t want to use it anymore. I’ve completed 4 triathlons. It’s a cool idea of a device if it didn’t mess up my breathing.

Worth every penny.
This Powerbreather snorkel is fantastic. Best swimming aid you'll ever get. I can swim indefinitely without having to stop to clean it. I regularly swim 45 minutes without lifting my head above water a single time thanks to this snorkel. With other swim snorkels, you're lucky to go 4 laps without having to dump it. It takes a few sessions to get used to the Powerbreather and for the valves to loosen up. Then it's absolutely outstanding.
