This is the worst controller I've bought first of all came with no directions so I had to clue how to even set it up let alone use the button mapping after figuring out I need an app for the button mapping I went and got the app I opened it and instead of showing me a ui it takes me to there website which I had to force quit out of and then I go back it downloaded some update froze me screen and now the controller no longer connects to the Xbox at all no matter what I do I've tried everything and it just doesn't connect and has been essentially reduced to a paperweight not even the wired works it's is absolutely the worst $90 I've ever spent all I got was a paperweight and a migraine

My older kid is incredibly tough on gaming gear, and we usually end up having to replace controllers simply because the joysticks start drifting. This PowerA model caught my attention specifically because it features Hall Effect thumbsticks. Translating the technical specifications into everyday impact, it basically means the controller uses magnets to detect the joystick's position instead of relying on physical contact sensors. Without that constant internal friction, the mechanical wear and tear is significantly reduced, which should completely eliminate that frustrating stick drift over the long haul. Functionally, it is a very versatile piece of hardware. You can easily switch between Bluetooth, a dedicated wireless connection, or just plug it directly in with the included USB-C cable. The back of the controller also features adjustable trigger locks, which is a clever mechanical addition if your family plays a wide variety of games. I do want to point out one specific claim from the marketing, however. The description heavily advertises a lightning-fast 1000Hz polling rate. While that sounds impressive, looking closely at the details reveals that you only actually get that speed if you are playing wired on a PC. If you are just playing wirelessly on the couch with the Xbox, it operates at standard speeds. The built-in battery easily gets us through the week without constantly hunting for the charger, and the bright aesthetic is a nice visual change from the usual solid black hardware. Ultimately, it feels like a thoughtfully engineered piece of equipment that genuinely solves a common hardware failure point.

This controller is a beauty! I’ve been using the same xbox branded controller for years and years and didn’t realize that they can wear down so much. Granted, I’m a casual player and I only bag a few hours a week gaming. However, the difference in weight (this one is lighter!) and ergonomics was immediately noticeable. This one has extra buttons on the back that can be programmed, and the sticks feel good to use. The description specifies it should have no stick drift, and from what I’ve noticed so far it does not. However, this controller does have one major downside - the connectivity. It can go just fine some sessions, and others it randomly disconnects and getting it reconnected can be a pain in the rear! The battery is built in, which is a bit different than other controllers I’ve used, so it requires its own charging setup. I admit I prefer the more standard option to be able to swap out battery packs, or charge on the charging station I already own, so that is a bit of a negative. It does go through battery fairly quickly so I end up charging after each session.

Horrendous controller. Very difficult to set up, comes with pre selected buttons and the power a controller calibration is very back dated. Difficult to manage and now my controller is lost within the app. Wireless simple doesn’t work.

I really love this controller! The "Beach Vibes" color really stands out. The hand feel is good, device options robust, and it is very responsive. What I liked: 1. It was packed really well and came with all the accessories one would need: a long USB C and receiver for wirelessly connecting to a PC without the Xbox adapter or Bluetooth. The inner carton has instructions for using the controller, including how to program the extra buttons. It was a nice touch. 2. It has a good feel, the weight of the controller is lighter than the core MS one but still heavy enough. The materials are on the upper end of 3rd party controllers. There was one comfort issue but I will save that for dislikes. 3. The connectivity options; Bluetooth, USB-C, or included adapter. You can connect it to your X-box or any other PC/Android device. I did not experience any disconnects during multiple play sessions on the X-Box or PC using the included adapter. 4. Hall Effect and Actual Controller response. I did not experience any issues such as lag during playing sessions (played Forza Horizon 5 on PC and X-box). 5. Charged very fast, I was able to use the controller dead out of the box for 1.5 hours after only 15 minutes charging. It was still going after that time! 6. Did I mention the funky color! 7. I do like the programability but honestly have not used it yet. What I disliked: 1. While comfortable during the session I did experience hand cramps afterwards. I have very large hands so it should be fine for people with average sized hands. 2. While I'm not deducting for it I am conflicted about the price. It is definitely cheaper than the elite controller but also more expensive than the standard controller. It does have more features but at the current price I'm not sure I wouldn't drop the additional money on a first party Elite (20-30 more when on sale). I think if this was about $10 cheaper I'd be much more comfortable price wise. At the current price I still think it's good for what you get. Those things considered I really like this controller. I think it will be my Wive's favorite when we play X-Box together.

It’s a good feeling controller if you want something around the same size as the Official Xbox Series Controllers but I had a very big issue occur when trying to connect this to my Xbox. It honestly wouldn’t connect after day 2 of using it even plugged in wired. Been also seeing others online saying they had similar issues going on as well. So all being said it still works great… on my laptop but highly don’t recommend getting this controller for your Xbox unless you want to risk connection problems on your purchase just to deal with support or refunds.
