On August 30, 1972, John Lennon & Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band with Elephant's Memory and guests headlined 2 historic ONE TO ONE concerts at Madison Square Garden, NYC. These benefit shows played to a combined audience of 40K people and helped raise over $1.5 million to support children with disabilities. They were his only full-length concerts after leaving the Beatles and the last shows John & Yoko performed together. Produced by Sean Ono Lennon, both concerts have been completely remixed and re-engineered by Paul Hicks and Sam Gannon, using new HD multitrack transfers by Rob Stevens with mixes mastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road. Super Deluxe Edition: 9 CDs, 103 tracks, lenticular cover, 204-page book, newsprint poster, 2 postcards, 2 sticker sheets, 2 replica tickets, VIP backstage pass & VIP after-show invitation. The concerts are presented separately as `afternoon,' `evening' and `hybrid' shows on 3 HD Audio Blu-ray discs in HD Stereo, 5.1 Surround & Dolby Atmos.

Excellent remixed sound quality, excellent music (by both John and Yoko, many more songs from John), excellent live concert (audio only, video of concert coming in 2026). So much rare and unreleased material, including in-the-studio working versions showing how the recording of each song progressed, and fun oldies jams from Lennon and band. Great 204-page hardback book with text from John, Yoko, Frank Zappa, drummer Jim Keltner, Elephants Memory Band members, and more. Includes reproduced concert tickets and backstage passes, stickers, postcards, large poster, etc. This box set is top-notch, an example of how these sets can and should be done. A must-have for John & Yoko fans, lovingly assembled by their son Sean Ono Lennon and the Grammy-award-winning Paul Hicks and others. Yoko started this wonderful Lennon reissue series with the IMAGINE album in 2018. Sean continued with JOHN LENNON?PLASTIC ONO BAND in 2021, MIND GAMES in 2024, and now POWER TO THE PEOPLE in 2025. Can't wait for the rest of the albums to get this fine deluxe treatment! Just two more things: In order to keep the 2 concert shows (Both afternoon and evening shows are included) to one CD each, Yoko's 'Sisters O Sisters' has been omitted. I'm sure it will be included when the concert film is released to streaming - and I hope Blu-ray and DVD - in 2026. Lastly, one song has been omitted entirely from this set, John's 'Woman Is the N... of the World', and some are making that the only issue about this exemplary box set. To ignore or avoid the 130+ tracks included here because 1 track is missing makes absolutely no sense to me. If you must have that live track, it's on the albums JOHN LENNON LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY, JOHN LENNON ANTHOLOGY, and WONSAPONATIME. The studio version is on the albums SOME TIME IN NEW YORK CITY (that album also included in the JOHN LENNON SIGNATURE BOX), SHAVED FISH, and WORKING CLASS HERO: THE DEFINITIVE LENNON, all still available. ... show more

I love John Lennon and the Beatles. So this was a fantastic purchase for my CD collection. Thank you for the good price and for getting out quickly to me. The audio restoration was superb, and I love the trinkets this box came with. A+!!

I purchased this to expand on my Lennon live in NY City cd and dvd of that concert. In addition, I wanted more stuff on New York City, which I consider the best of the three albums John & Yoko did together. There is a lot to delve into, but so far I'm happy. It has already been pointed out by others that some songs are missing (like WITNOTW) and there is no updated dvd (bummer). Hence, why I did not give it five stars. If you like this early stuff by John and Yoko--get it. I enjoy them together musically. If you just want a sample, just buy the best of both shows 1 cd or the the afternoon and evening shows 2 cd. However, If you just dig John (not Yoko) buy the J.L. live in NY City cd and track down the dvd--although it's hard to find anymore. Anyway, it has a hefty price tag for this box set. Listed above are a couple of inexpensive puchase options for the casual listener. ... show more

I'll give it 5 stars for awesome content! But my oh my...this is way overpriced! I can't afford this and I'm a big John Lennon fan! Alright...I can only hope that Sean Ono Lennon sees this and sends me a free copy like he has done for so many youtubers! Otherwise...I'll stick with my CD of Some Time In New York City with that banned song on it! ... show more
