I just installed the gearbox on my 1977 Ford F1 hundred. It gearbox fit perfectly works great I love it. It was expensive but worth it. I also installed a new steering column. Now my truck feels like new. Highly recommend it

    • Defective box seeks ditch
The box looks nice, new and installed, on center, without issue. I lifted the front wheels, slightly, and bleed it. Afterward, when the wheel is mored off center the power takes the wheel and drives it to the stop. This happens in going left or right of center. I have completely rebuilt and aligned front end that behaved normally with my old but questionable, touchy, box. I tried to drive it hoping some air bubble might clear or that the control valve would need to settle in. I only got 1/2 mile at a maximum of 25 MPH and fought it all the way before turning around; which was much easier than driving straight. I checked over everything including that my lines were installed correctly and bleed it some more. Second test drive only half as far; way too scary. I sent it off to a specialist for a full blueprint and calibration. They called to tell me that these import (non-ford) boxes are coming in regularly and are a mix of parts that they don't have a kits to work with. They threw their hands up and sent in back without touching it. I'm forced to return it. ... show more

A good product for your money

    • bad gear out of the box. Absolute junk. $336 down the tubes. Internal valving all messed up.
This gear was junk right out of the box. My shop installed in December but was doing a complete makeover of the truck. New drivetrain so it was not ready to fire and test until middle of March. Went back to get a replacement and Amazon return window closed January.

I agree with the other review…..after installing bleeding air, the steering wheel will move erratically from side to side. Obviously getting a well remanufactured unit is a crap shoot. This is same as a Lares 11060, reman in USA……
