This Porter Cable oscillating tool is amazing. It came with a few attachments but I bought three HOTBEST 68 piece universal wood and metal accessory pack. I love that this tool has the patented depth cutting guide. I was able to cut through drywall only with this during a demo of all of my built-ins in my living room with ease. Has a very long electrical cable which is a bonus. I especially love the quick connect for the accessories. just press the button and disconnect your tool and put the new one in and let go of the button. The tool motor is very powerful works great. Honestly because of the patented depth guide, I don't think you would buy any other tool except this one because none of the other ones have this.     • Hard to beat...

Based on my research, and experience this product is the best choice. I am a previous construction industry worker, as well as a previous small business owner in the "property preservation" sector, where you had to be a well versed handyman. This product has versatility, as well as ease of use, and that alone speaks volumes. I am particularly fond of the ability to quick change a tool. Some might be concerned that the quick change aspect might not hold the tool well, and be kind of "sloppy" in it's performance versus a tool required "chuck", but I can tell you that Porter Cable put a great deal of thought/engineering into a snug/secure fit. You'll see once you go to set a tool in the arbor as to how secure it is. It also has more than enough power to tackle most any job, and I give it an excellent rating. I have a number of other Porter Cable products, belt sander, 2 different size brad nailers, a pancake air compessor, and this company can stand "toe to toe" with any other, and I own a number of other competitor's products. So, I speak from the perspective of an "average joe" homeowner/handyman, as well as a previous small construction industry business owner, this product "ROCKS". I am now retired, and I bought this product specifically for doing a "whole house" exterior recaulking project. I will have to be up on a ladder at some significant heights, and this tool is going to help from a safety perspective. Thanks Porter Cable!!! ... show more

    • I don't know why I waited so long.
Style: Oscillating Kit with grinder
This has quickly become one of my favorite tools. It has all but replaced my hacksaw, and it does cutting jobs that were very difficult or almost impossible to do before. I have used the sanding discs a few times, but mostly use it for cutting. If you ever need to cut into a wall to insert an electrical box... you need this tool. I should probably give it a 4 1/2 if it was available, because there are a couple minor issues - but not enough to drop it from a 5. First, the tool gets pretty hot after just a minute or two. I have a tendency to "choke up" a bit on the tool by placing one hand fairly near the "business end". This gives me precise and fine control, but unfortunately, this is where the source of the heat is, and it becomes too hot to hold there after use. You have to hold the unit further back, which does not give you as much control. If the tool could have been designed to allow this, it would have been perfect. The other issue is the blades. Some of the competitors have teeth on the side, where these are only on the front tip. While you can move the blade to the side, this is not often the solution as it changes the blade orientation. There is an adapter so 3rd party blades can be used that I have not tried so that might be a solution. Otherwise, should Porter Cable make a "side cutting" blade, it would enhance the tool's usefulness. But again, these things I consider minor, and I did not want to give it 4 stars as otherwise it is a great tool. ... show more

This is my current favorite tool. I like it so much I look for reasons to use it. I've used two other multi-tool brands and have had issues with each. What are my favorite feature? 1.) No tools needed to change cutting/sanding heads - this makes it easy (and fun!) to change heads. I found that with my other multi-tools that required an allen wrench I'd need to plan my work differently to minimize the hassle of changing heads. Now I don't think about that and focus on the task at hand. 2.) Heavy-duty construction and motor - this baby never stops! 3.) Roller guide for cutting straight lines or keeping a specified distance. 4.) Extra long power cord. 5.) Lots of accessories came with the kit: cutting heads, sand paper, scraper. and finally, 6.) Great price! You don't feel like you're getting ripped off... I've read other reviews that complained about the device over-heating. I've never had that problem and I've done LOTS of cutting with this tool. I've found that if I'm not careful, I'll cover the ventilation holes with my gloved hand(s). This will cause the tool to warm up. For me, keeping the vents holes open (as I'm sure it was designed) prevents over-heating. Bottom line: If you're looking for a multi-tool that's fun to use and will last a long time then get this one. ... show more
