When I first opened it, my heart sank. It looked smaller than I had envisioned. I thought there is no way I can do anything with this... Oh boy was I wrong. I plopped it in my shower and off I went. I started at 3 and finished 5:30. Sounds like a lot of time but... I washed the following: 7 kitchen towels, 2 xl bath towels, 1 bath robe, 1 queen sheet set, 8 pillow cases, 1 queen blanket, 2 jeans, 1 pair socks, 8 pairs of leggings, 10 t-shirts, 5 nightgown dress thingies, 9 shorts, 6 dresses, 5 bras, 1 throw blanket, 1 set of curtains, 1 bathroom rug and one 5 ft runner rug. I have a queen blanket that was way too heavy so I used the washer side and hand washed. The other queen blanket was able to be washed but was too big for the spinner. I simply used it to wash and hung after. I cheated on the wash method suggested. I used the same wash water for two loads and used the spin side to do the final rinse. To make things more efficient, I pulled out the whole load, loaded another, started the wash and then piece by piece did the spin for the previous load. The spin side finished with a minute or two to spare and I used this time to hang the clothes. This way there was always something being accomplished. Some loads I did for 3 minutes wash and others I did for 12. It just depended on what I was washing. Every load had between 5 and 8 items. Initially I used the shower head to fill and rinse. After I finished the bulk of the laundry, I took the machine upstairs to put away. When passing the bathroom I thought I would try out the hose they provide. It actually fits my faucet. This is when I decided to wash the runner rug lol it was the closest thing to me and I wanted to try out using the hoses. I put it on my toilet and drained into the bowl. Sooooooo much easier than the shower. To dry, I hung up in various places throughout my house. Next time I will definitely not be washing this much -lol- some items dried within 30 minutes. Most I just left out overnight and collected this morning. Things that could be improved- A lint filter, longer power cord and drain tube would be nice. Some kind of release valve at the bottom of the machine to ensure all water has been removed. Oh and very minor but, I have long nails. This made using the lift handles a little more difficult. If they had hollowed out just a bit more it would be a comfortable grip. Updated: 11/3/2018 I am still madly in love with this machine. I have upgraded my set up. I moved it outside to my covered patio. Had a sink installed off of my existing bathroom sink and built a custom set up. Underneath I have a plastic storage bin, I built a shelf above that to hold the washer, and a shelf/counter that runs around the top. I have the magic chef 1.5 ft cubic dryer above that. Note, the dryer is the same capacity as the washer and spinner. It matches in a nice black and white and it uses a regular outlet. I cut a hole for the hose so that it drains into the plastic bin. From there an aquarium pump moves the water back into the sink. It is a self contained system. No lugging water around, no shower or bathroom splashes to clean up. I use my washer every 3-5 days. I don't know why I like the routine of the process. I also invested in floating lint catchers. They took a month to arrive but I got 4 or 5. They will last for a long time. For those of you dumping buckets, I seriously suggest getting a submersible water pump. Mine was $45 on Amazon and it was a game changer. It is a light blue and white, I can't remember the name off the top of my head. It pumps out almost as fast as the machine releases the water. Oh and the hose was 10 feet so, it has a lot of reach. The wood was $35 from City mill, the sink free, plumbing $50 and pump $45. If you can't install a sink where you are at, using a metal rolling cart, bucket on the bottom shelf and the pump would be an ideal set up. It could easily be pulled out and put back when needed. ... show more

  • Flybabies, it’s like shining your sink per room
Wow I love it! I am part of an email cleaning group because I am not the best at keeping house. One of the daily tasks is to do a load of laundry. Well with my rental set up, I did not like dealing with a man that was renting the portion of the house with the washer and dryer. I went back and forth about buying this. So glad I did, just why did I wait so long! My laundry pile, my daughters but most especially my sons pile we’re becoming overwhelming. Steadily this little machine has knocked out my pile in a day and I am half way through my sons room. . As the pile in my room went away, I also decluttered and voila, my room is now my oasis. Laundry baskets are like our kitchen sink, if we can keep them clean the rest of the room seems to follow. No more dirty clothes pile stinking up my room. His room is starting to smell better and my daughters is next. BE WARNED... the little spinner sometimes trips the bathroom outlet and for some reason the washer will continue to work but it will appear that the spinner does not work. This is not a problem of the machine, it’s probably the outlet. I think it was when I splashed water by filling the machine up with the bucket. I thought that I ruined my little machine and I had already burned the motor, but in fact the little machine is just fine once I figured out this quandary. ADVICE. If you use the larger headed tube to fill up the clothes, the second tube can go inserted on the end of that tube to make it longer. Also another reviewer suggested using rinse water as your next load washing water, which is brilliant. NEED TO KNOW. This machine is not an automatic. Which means you have to pour the water to start and to rinse. I took out from the directions to the spin the clothes in the middle, makes no sense. If I had too much detergent in the clothes and it doesn’t feel like it came out in the rinse. I put the included hose on the spin side and rinse as they start to spin. Works fantastic, just hang up and they dry by the morning. But with 15 minutes of effort you can keep up with your clothes and now my son can keep up with his own clothes and catch up with just one load a day. TOPPERS my sons bedsheets and everything else have come out cleaner than they used to when I washed them in a great big washing machine. I think they get less tangled since there is less clothes and actually get a chance to scrub themselves. Hope you like as much as I have. I m just now testing laundry conditioner, to see if that works well in the rinse. ... show more
