  • Got error codes the first use
We read the directions and took it step by step. The first time using it we got error codes, then it wouldn't fully shut off. We had to wait for the battery to die before it quit making attempts to run. Returned it within the return window and never looked back.

  • Junk
Bought this unit in June 2025, when I first got it I plugged in the house charging unit and it worked as did the unit itself. I tried charging it the second time needing it for camping but the household charger isn’t working now. Tried going on their website and can’t find anything to contact them. Very disappointing you would think that they would have someway of contacting for parts. Definitely do not recommend this company. UPDATE since this review company has gotten ahold of me finally and I was able to get a new household charger just to along time for a response from them. ... show more

  • Glamping "Must Have"
I have been on the fence about buying one of these, for a while now. After researching several different brands, I decided to purchase the Wintemp model GPT3U. One feature I like, is the push button temperature control vs the dial style, as I think it's a more stable heat setting. I have only seen this control style on one other brand's updated model. The 4000 mAh internal battery makes it easy to place the unit anywhere you want. However, if it runs out of power, there's still the option to plug the car or wall charger into your vehicle or other power source. The GPT3U is super simple to set up. Just connect the regulator & propane cannister, hoses, put the pump into a water source and within 5 seconds, you have hot water! Some usage tips : I recommend keeping the blue cap that comes on the end of the shower hose (red) If you store the hose detached from the nozzle, you may lose the small white washer in the end of the hose. Screwing the blue cap back on keeps this from happening. Also, make sure you drain the water from the unit, after using. Detach both hoses and tip the unit forward, so that all of the water drains out of the ports. One other thing to note... if your water source is very cold, you may need to cycle the water through again to get your desired temperature , as the device will only be able to increase the temperature by 45° F. Lastly, the company has excellent customer service and communication, which is very important, as well as a great product! ... show more

  • E6 and pump errors during first use; inconsistent water temp; unable to maintain high temperatures
Unfortunately, this portable propane water heater did not function as intended. During the initial test and evaluation of the unit, persistent E6 and pump errors occurred. Details are discussed in the video. The almost immediate failure of a component is both disappointing and frustrating. While the unit was easy to set up and did not leak water or propane, I do not consider the unit a good value. Highlights: -It consistently pumped and heated 5 gallons of water to 100 degrees in 5-7 minutes. -E6 and pump errors began about 2.5 gallons into the 2nd bucket when the output temperature was adjusted to 118. -The unit is remarkably lightweight and easy to carry. -The battery charged quickly and was not noticeably drained during the 30-45 minute testing session. -Assuming the pump is an isolated issue and covered under warranty, this could be a decent unit. -The highest temperature achieved was 117.2 degrees, but the unit could not maintain that high temperature consistently. -Until the brief 117-degree temp, there was a 5 (or so) discrepancy between the unit's temp display and the actual water temperature. -The shower head has three icons on the switch, but we could only get two different settings to present. -A brand new and clean bucket was used for the test. -A digital kitchen thermometer was used to determine the water temperature at the shower head. -For reference, water temperature began at 63 degrees. The air temperature was 50 degrees. ... show more

  • Hasn't worked
It came out of the box flashing and EC error which means display malfunction. I'm still giving it 2 stars because I feel like it would be a good one looking at how well it was made. I'm sure this was something that happened with transporting it.

  • Amazing! Works just like the video - easy, fast hot water when you need it!
This portable hot water heater is just exactly what I wanted and needed. I have a one of those small usb water pumps that can deliver water to your faucet which is great in a camping situation as I do have a fold away style silicone "sink" which has a drain that can be blocked so it holds water when needed, then opened to drain it away onto the ground or a canister if you have one for "dirty" water, but this system doesn't provide HOT (or even warm) water. Then there's my camp oven which is my pride and joy as it is a dual fuel - using both propane or isobutane - that cooks muffins and other items really well. Works like a camp stove (which I have as well). I mention these last two things because I have a small supply of 1-lb propane canisters as well as isobutane for when I am spending time outdoors. Of course it's the 1-lb propane tanks that I needed for this water heater. I pulled my most recently-used 1-lb propane tank, hooked it up to the gas regulator which I then attached to the heater itself. I then took out the shower tube and head, attached the shower head to it's tube/line and plugged that into the heater. Next, I plugged in both the pump's "power" line and then the tubing, placing the opposite end with the pump in a 5 gallon bucket of clean water from my outdoor hose tap. Last, I plugged in the power cord using a 200 watt power bank I had charged and ready to go. Pressed the on button and the pump button, heard a few clicking sounds and then pressed the shower head's button to turn on the shower head. I didn't change the heat setting when I first turned it on and the display had 88 degrees which I could feel was warm. I pressed the up/increase/+ button and the display showed 104 degrees. Felt the water coming out of the showerhead and it was SO WARM! Very fast heating and the amount of water it delivers is more than enough for taking a shower or washing dishes, giving your dog a bath at home, out camping or even during the summer when we grill out in the back yard more often, this would be a great way to keep the entire meal-making work outside - wash your hands, wash any dishes. fill a pan with hot water for those ears of corn that go so well with grilled burgers or hot dogs! Everything outside and when you bring it all back inside, everything is clean and ready to be put away! I can't tell you how much I am going to enjoy using this portable hot water heater on demand - it's exactly what I want and need for being on the road and especially staying at primitive campgrounds with no facilities available. Oh, at it weighs just under 14 pounds so really not too heavy to carry. I will say that in the video that's posted, the guy has this really nice carry case and I didn't see it as an "add-on" for this item. I really would love to have that case so all the parts have a "home" to stay with the main unit. This unit is in line with others as far as price goes and while I think they are a bit high-priced, I do feel that this one is really worth the investment if you camp alot or travel regularly and don't stay in hotels when stopping for a night or two. Great hot water heater - I plan to use it a LOT!!! ... show more

  • Excellent Portable Camping Shower
This is a great little portable camping shower. It comes with everything you need (except a bucket, of course). Setup is quick and easy, just attach the propane gas regulator and bottle, hook up the water input and output hoses, plug in the pump, throw the pump in a bucket of water and you're ready to go. Make sure to charge the battery first, of course which can be done from a standard US wall outlet, or from a 12 volt car charger source. The unit can also run while it's plugged in/charging. It's lightweight with a nice carry handle, and has a magnetic shower head holder which attaches directly to the unit itself. The pump is connected to the inlet hose and also has the power cable clipped to it, so you don't have to mess with running a separate power cable, which is nice. The shower head has a couple different spray options (one good for showers, one good for washing dishes). It also has a pause button so you can stop the water flow while you lather up, so you don't waste water. The shower hose is about 8' long, so plenty long to shower with. The pump inlet hose is only about 5' though. The buttons/functions are pretty straightforward...power it on, use +/- to adjust the temp, then hit the pump button to turn on the pump. The water heats up pretty quick, similar to my tankless water heater at home. I'm not sure how long a propane tank will last bit it takes the standard 1lb tanks, so you should have a few of those on hand. There are a couple minor quirks in my opinion that caused the 4-star rating (instead of 5). First, I bought this mainly for giving my dogs a shower outside in the cooler months (when the ambient water temp is in the 50's). I was hoping to be able to hook this directly up to a hose bib for an infinite water supply but that is not an option with this (I may try to rig something up...if I do I'll update this review). Second, when using this for camping it would have been nice if they had included a carry case/bag to hold all of the accessories, which would make it a truly portable solution. Some of the videos from the manufacturer show them pulling it out of a name-branded case that looks like it was made just for the water heater. It would have been nice if that was included (or at least available for purchase...I looked and couldn't find it). Other than those minor things, this is a great portable water heater and works especially well for camping or off-grid use (as long as you have a bucket/clean trash can and a clean water supply). ... show more
